Still always so wild to check on if there’s any new .hack//SIGN discourse and get old forum posts from 2005 being like “What was up with Tsukasa and Subaru?” and there’s a small set of people going “If we break it down scientifically we can conclude they were probably gay” and then another set of people going “I think it would be reading into it too much to definitively say they were gay” and like-
It's so weird because I watched .Hack when it came out as a child and didn't troll the forums or anything so I basically had my personal reaction for about a decade?
And I just accepted the reveal and moved on with my life. I really only thought about it once I saw other peoples' reactions.
And I really like the reveal now! B.T isn't some mysterious morally ambiguous wizard in a fantasy setting, she's a bored office lady playing a video game. Of course her name would be some weird personal quirk that only makes total sense to her! And of course B.T would hate lettuce. B.T's life *is* lettuce, and her attempts to make her life bacon and tomato (stirring the Tsukasa drama pot, hitting on Crim) just make things awkward for her.
Still REELING for 12 years straight that B.T. stood for BACON TOMATO
