Knives, but gentle

I keep seeing posts mentioning knives, and all I can think about is all the gentle stuff the whumper can do with them, before they actually cause pain. Think, tracing the tip along their victim’s skin, the cold of the blade making them shiver. Using it to tilt their head back without even having to touch their neck, the whumpee instinctively moving away from the sharp edge. Tapping the flat of the blade onto their skin, deciding where to cut next. It’s so terrifying and intimate, that even the most defiant of whumpees find their breath catching in their throat. 

Just, give me some creepy intimacy and anticipation that’s almost worse than the pain itself.
