Hi there! Can you explain the following terms for me? I’ve seen them all around tumblr and can’t seem to understand :( nsfw? Blurbs? Head cannons? I’d really appreciate it so i can get a better understanding of what I’m reading :) - 🪐

nsfw stands for not safe for work, which means that post will contain smut and +18 content, with minors dni warnings (minors don't interact) so minors don't unwillingly expose themselves to that kind of stuff. on the other hand, sfw means there's no +18 content related and sometimes in here is associated with fluff.

i searched blurb in google and didn't quite understand. i think it'similar to a drabble, which is a short piece of writing which usually isn't longer than 1000 words, if i'm not wrong.

headcanons literally comes from head and canons. canon refers to a piece of media, show, movie, books; something that has accurately happened to the character we're talking about. for example, harry potter wears glasses, percy jackson really likes the color blue, katniss everdeen wears her dad's jacket. so a headcanon implies some fact or kind of information that you think is canon for a certain character. so, i could say that i headcanon harry potterr as a raging bisexual who leans towards boys, katniss everdeen's favorite fruit is an apple and percy jackson hates cuddles (i don't like this last headcanon). the fun thing about it it's that even if it contradicts the canon information we have, it doesn't matter because it's something your head has created.
