Merlin would cut the Knights apples into slices and at first the knights would tell him he didn’t need to do that but now they’ve forgotten how to eat an apple normally

someone complains that any time he has apples that merlin hasnt picked and cut for them they taste weird
and merlin isnt doing anything to them but its a psychological response
Merlins inadvertently made every single one of the knights of the round table absolutely dependant on him
not just arthur who forgot he could dress himself because merlin just did it unasked
why wouldnt he cut their apples for them and look at them fondly like a worried hen at his mortal knights
he always scoops the seeds too so no one can choke or get poisoned somehow
hes just that worried
