TV series “HOMELAND”: a story of the mentoring relationship

The key tie in this story is the mentoring relationship between Carrie Mathison and Saul Berenson. It is strongest and consistent in all seasons. Quin and Adal had a similar relationship. However, Quin was gone and Adal was in prison when their tie was less clear and less obvious. Changing partner and partner’s death are parts of many TV series. In that meaning, “Game of Thrones” is a story of brotherhood, sisterhood. Stark family won and families who have no this kind of ties were almost all gone.
Their mentoring relationship is more clear and obvious in the final season. Carrie denied her identity as a member of the CIA saying that she did a job because Saul wanted it. The ending scene indicates their tie continues even after she left her homeland. Saul's Russian asset, who was a key person in this season, had been an English teacher whose students had been tortured and killed. She had been motivated by vengeance.
I enjoyed watching the final season. So many things happened in 12 episodes. Even one of the main characters, Max died less dramatically. It is more accurate to say that the heroine fought for truth rather than fought enemies. The storyline, which was made recently, shows the situation we have been faced in the last few years, “Post-truth”.
That’s St Mary’s church I think! It burned down a while ago and there was a rumour that two boys died in it. People say that their spirits are still there. Sad times.
The village did have a project to try and restore it but I have a feeling that it has now stopped.
Been a while since I’ve been up there myself, maybe I might take a walk up there again. 🤔 It’s got a lovely view up there!
