Thinking about how good McLaren PR could have been if Lando hadn’t been such a little bitch in Hungary.
Imagine with me: teammates who play fair and allowed to fight on track. If Lando had given the position sooner he would’ve been able to fight for the win.
Imagine with me: teammates celebrating together on the podium, immediately spraying the other with champagne.
Imagine with me: Oscar happy on the radio, still reserved but this time the word sorry does not pass his lips. Instead it’s sighs and thank yous and “tell Lando that was a good fight”
Imagine with me: press conferences are still a little awkward but instead of the questions about Lando bitching on the radio it’s about an on track fight.
Imagine with me: Oscar getting the spotlight he deserves and a win that everyone can clearly see was based on merit (instead of a merit based win overshadowed by teammate drama)
If things had gone right, this win would have been an amazing performance for McLaren PR. Instead, we have a teammate rift, blackmail on the radio, and an overshadowed win. Oscar deserved so much better, and he will get it.
