Working in a flower shop was maybe the most picturesque place you could have imagined yourself as a child. A simple yet pretty cliche that had become your daily life.
When everyday began to blend together, the shop had given you a gift.
Flowers were something everyone could appreciate— a kind gesture to extend congratulations or condolences, even a confession of love.
You’d watched hundreds of people come and go, witnessing the many different forms that love can take. There was love in mourning as well as love in hiding under the guise of friendship.
The two of you came together in March. Fumbling through his change in front of you, a clumsy smile on his face as he thought to himself how perfect the day was going to go.
Wishing him well, you push the encounter out of your mind without sparing a second thought to how beautiful he had been seemingly in love.
It was when he came back a second time, curiosity got the best of you.
That second time was also when you had realized just what kind of love he brought with him, a love for possibility.
That love was a question that never found an answer— a love that still hasn't.
