Coming into a fandom late
Where Bighit has fucked up with bts (and txt) and why we should be mad at them
• Not uploading the BBMAs performace, removing NBCs video of it due to copyright and then going radio silent when fans asked about it
• Sending staff on holiday during the DNA comeback while bts were being slandered on radio
• Not uploading English subs for videos despite overwhelming international fanbase
• Blatantly stating that they wont ever post their own translations because fans do it anyway
• Not giving the boys a translator in interviews and leaving everything to Namjoon
• Promoting txt over bts at all times, even during bts’ comeback and their bbmas award
• Sending the boys to perform while injured
• Overbooking their korean schedules so that they are exhausted when they get to the US
• Booking back to back concerts/tours and not allowing them to have time off afterwards, leading to multiple injuries during their tours
• Not addressing issues or scandals until weeks after the event, after the media have gained traction
• Not blocking many sasaengs or reprimanding fans for bad behaviours unless the fandom calls them out on it first
• Not allowing the boys to have their own insta accounts and not utilising the bts insta properly
• Mismanaging social media in general
• Only giving a few days off during emergencies, even for funerals and medical emergencies
• Overpricing merch
• Hyping merch over everything else, even the bbmas and the boys’ health
• Not giving bts an english fansite and only leaving them on the hard to use daum
• Putting txt and bts’ comebacks at the same time, to hype the whole ‘family aspect’, but also making it hard for txt because they have to essentially compete against their far more popular sunbaes
• Pitting txt and bts fans against each other by having them comeback at the same time
• Giving txt the same fandom name as another, senior, fanbase and idol. Then going radio silent
• Openly admitting that they dont want bts to get more popular because they dont know how to manage them
(Literally what I could think of off the top of my head. I am sure there are more, particularly seeing as the new CEO blatantly doesn’t care about BTS or know how to manage them properly)
