★ — It's one of the many reasons Gregory doesn't like going to school ; teachers are so quick to assume that the kid coming from a troubled home life is going to be the one starting trouble. Sure, it wasn't quite the same here ( not with the falsified documents michael provided ) — but he was still the new kid. But Michael's leading him away from the school ( tension noticeably drains as they cross the threshold of the doors to the outside ), and he's not in trouble, and for the first time it's .... nice. Nods in affirmative, quickening his pace to just barely a step ahead of the man.

"It's not too far — closer to our apartment." ( a pause, and he tilts his head back to look at michael ). "Y'know, you should get out more. You almost look normal when you're like that, and I don't think all those soap operas you watch are good for your brain. You need to see real people talk to each other."

GREGORY'S CHANGE IN ATTITUDE brings a small smile to Michael's face ( hidden beneath facial covering— efforts to conceal himself that he has to take every time he steps into public, but especially when dealing with anyone that could compromise their situation ), bringing him a different kind of relief. He could tell Gregory was tense, and not quite sure how to handle the situation... the thought of making the wrong choices leaves him nervous at best, paranoid at worst. The last thing he wants to do is push Gregory down... maybe all he needed right now was for someone to believe him.

"Yeah— sure, hot chocolate and brownies it is." Well, for Gregory, but pushing open the door to the school, Michael ACTS excited all the same ( and it does lift his spirits, to do something good for him ). "Lead the way, kid. You know I don't get out there as much."
