the fact that dani was the first person jamie was shown to b nice to rly speaks volumes ok bc jamie is a prick, he’s a prick bc he’s young and arrogant but he’s also a prick as a defence mechanism, when u grow up expecting abuse it’s easy to set traps for people later in ur life to fall into so they give u a reason to leave them before they leave or hurt u; jamie is a prick and when people act like pricks back to him it just means he gets off the hook on being better BUT dani is so nice to jamie, like relentlessly nice that i think it was a shock to jamie’s system and he has no choice but to want to b nice to dani bc he’s not falling into the trap jamie’s set for him and for everyone else in his life, instead he’s throwing kindness back in jamie’s face and reminding him that that’s what he rly wants
