I'd like to think after wonka had all that wealth and fame, he was never really a human anymore but only a mere shell of people pleaser because that's his job, that's what people want from him and pressure him to make; his creations. “oH tHaT's aBsUrD! hE eNjOyS iT!” yes he enjoys making candies but he's still a human after all. who cares about willy wonka anyway? who's willy wonka without his creations ANYWAY? i always think making candies wasn't as pleasurable as it always did to him. LIKE UGH AM I GOING INSANE???

did anyone ever see willy wonka as a person? I mean, apart from him being THE candy maker, did anyone ever look at him as a human? he's strong because I wouldn't open my factory again after being betrayed like that. or is it because no one really looks at him as a human so he became again the very thing people thought of him, ‘a chocolatier’? do you understand what I mean? no you dont.
