When fandom and racism mix, they do not end well. The fact that the fandom idolizes Sterek to the point they destroy canon, their character as well as the plot and make it the "center" of Teen Wolf, all points regarding the actual show and canon universe is forgotten. When fans or first time watchers see it for the first time, they are displeased and upset to find out that a Latino male lead (Scott) is the main character of the show and not Stiles and Derek, when in actuality Derek was the show's antagonist for the first two seasons until his character development in season 3 and onwards.

Scott is an amazing, intelligent, protective and loyal character. I admire his heroism and courageous attitude that sets him apart from most characters. But the fact that racists and anti-Scott fans do not like him because of Sterek, it paints a bleak and sad picture. The blatant ignorance in this post from 2023 is just saddening that fans aren't pulled in because of Scott but because of the fandom's dominance with Sterek.
