Mabel is a twelve-year-old girl who's five minutes older than her twin brother. She's also the great niece of Stan. Mabel eventually wins a pet pig named Waddles. She represents the shooting star symbol in the Bill Cipher Zodiac, as it presents one of her sweaters. Mabel is an energetic, cheerful, fun, hyperactive, enthusiastic and free-spirited girl. Her outgoing personality and fearless curiosity comes in handy when her twin needs help solving a mystery, even if she isn't always aware of her silliness. Regardless, Mabel has a more sophisticated attitude when it comes to art. Despite all the weirdness in Gravity Falls, she's a "glass-half-full" person. Mabel rarely angry or upset and generally keeps a positive outlook. Yet, she can be quite sensitive. Mabel will occasionally get her feelings hurt, especially by her rival. She's somewhat naive at times, too. Mabel avoids lying because she's a terrible liar, often blurting out whatever she's trying to lie. Beyond this, she's aware of her charm. As such, Mabel cherishes her beauty and cuteness. She generally has a high opinion of herself, considering herself "irresistible" to boys. Mabel also claims she does everything perfectly and believes she's of "pure, perfect heart." In reality, she's flawed like everyone else. Mabel will occasionally do things which will accidentally backfire in some way. However, she has the best intentions. Mabel will always try doing what's right for her happiness and others. In addition, she's clumsy. More than anything, Mabel is a dreamer with a world filled with preteen novels. Thus, her fixation on finding her one true love lands her in sticky situations at times. Mabel even has moments of self-centered behavior, mostly when it comes to boys. Although she sometimes prioritizes her needs over others, she'll apologize and own up to her mistakes.
