nayeon had a big heart–especially because her members and once filled her with so much love that she sometimes joked that the organ would eventually explode from the overwhelmingly beautiful emotion she felt for all of them. now that taehyung also occupied a space in her heart as well, nayeon was starting to think that maybe it wasn’t a joke after all. of course, the explosion wouldn’t be as… ghastly as one may think, but figuratively… she could definitely liken the constant growth of her feelings for her boyfriend as her heart continuing to fill up as if it were an oversized balloon; and she welcomed it with open arms.
“by the time award season comes around, our peers will start to call it taehyung and nayeon season,” nayeon replied, grinning. “we’ll probably end up having awards named after us, too!” it was somewhat wishful thinking, but nayeon couldn’t help but think about how great she and taehyung would be if the two of them worked together. the career path would be fun to take, that’s for sure. “yes, we could be as internationally loved as… as…” nayeon paused for a moment as she attempted to think of a beloved celebrity pair. “frank sinatra and ava gardner!”
a wide smile appeared on her face as she used her free hand to gently squish her boyfriend’s flushed cheeks. a light giggle escaped her lips, and nayeon used her other free hand to gently brush away a piece of lint that landed on her pajamas. “we can learn english while we learn french!” she commented, throwing in their inside joke for fun. sometimes nayeon wished, just a bit–that no one would care they were together. that way, they could just enjoy their relationship and show off their happiness without a worry in the world. outside of the obvious reasons, that would’ve probably been a roadblock in the two of them becoming each other’s co-star.
with the way the conversation was going so casually, it almost seemed as if the camera didn’t even exist anymore–instead, it was just the two of them engaging in meaningful conversation. “extremely depressing,” nayeon agreed, nodding her head, “making your own ending? that sounds like a great idea… i need to start doing that when i watch movies and don’t like the ending!” grabbing another small forkful of eggs, nayeon ate them before gently tapping her boyfriend’s arm, “oh! what’s your ending of the notebook like?” now it was her turn to blush—as soon as she felt her face heat up, nayeon placed her hands against her cheeks. “we’ll be the greatest noah and allie the world’s ever seen.” maybe, just maybe they could get things past their fans; but knowing onces… nayeon knew it would be a matter of time before they got suspicious.
now came the second best part of the day–or at least part of it. nayeon had been looking forward to treating her boyfriend to whatever it was that he wanted to do for his birthday, that was why she nodded along with his choices, making a mental list of each one in order so that they could have something like an itinerary. taehyung’s last comment made nayeon poke her lips out, her eyes lighting up slightly at the way his words tugged at her heart strings. “ah, well i’ll make sure you have lots of fun today.” she leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek before gasping, “we can watch a disney movie! beauty and the beast! or even toy story.”
Taehyung was a man who loved with every part of him. His members were victims of how deeply he could love. Words of affirmation, acts of service, physical touch, gifts, and quality time were all important to him and he tried his best to offer those to anyone he cared about. Whatever he could do to make them feel just as special as they were to him. With Nayeon, he wanted to provide all of that and more.
Painting scenarios with her felt like a tradition that they picked up since Paris. It flowed easy that Taehyung even believed the fairytale that they created between each other. Imagining such awards and the list of possibilities that could come from working together. There was no doubt in his mind that the world would love Nayeon. The question was if they would be just as accepting of their relationship? “They’ll gift us so many awards that they’ll have to cap us after a certain amount. You know... to keep it fair to the rest of the actors” his smile widened at the celebrity couple that she picked. Frank Sinatra had always been one of his favorites. “We’ll be remembered for decades to come!” He followed the tone.
“Done! When do the classes start?” he scrunched his nose when she squished his cheeks. The idol had gone years with picking up an English class and time and time again... he would drop it. Friends of his often teased him saying that he usually picked up hobbies or classes only to drop them weeks later. Just like his songs, he discarded the idea when he grew bored of it. “I have to admit that I’m a bad student. Namjoonie hyung always struggles with teaching me and I never find another teacher that I like.” Although they were only creating scenarios, he wanted to be honest as well just in case if Nayeon wanted to sign up together.
He was positive that they would look back at the footage one day and laugh over how the two had completely forgotten about the camera. “Mm!” He nodded while his eyes went bright when she asked about his ending to the movie. “My ending is that she never had alzheimer’s. They have a bunch of kids and they’re celebrating their anniversary in the end with all of their kids. Much better than her forgetting him. The writer just wants to make people cry. Not in my movie.” He took another bite of the food, smiling at the blush that crossed his girlfriend’s face. It amazed him how adorable she was without trying. “Much better than Noah and Allie” he smiled at the thought.
There was always a hint of sadness that he felt whenever they talked about their relationship. Taehyung often wondered how much easier things would be if he admitted to Army who he was dating. Idols had done it in the past. They would only need to push through the first few months before things smoothed over. Anytime he hoped for that to happen... he remembered all of the ships that fans created and how toxic some became. The innocent filming he had with Olivia months ago brought so much hate towards the girl that Taehyung wouldn’t bear the idea of Nayeon being on the end of it.
He tried to push the sadness away and focus on today’s activities. He wasn’t big on celebrating his day but he did want to make today memorable even if it was something as simple as staying indoors with his girlfriend. Tae gave a quick poke to her bottom lip shortly before she pecked his cheek. “ooh a marathon of toy story?" Any Disney movie would do but he loved that series. “We can order everything that they have on their menu too! Is it crazy to eat ice cream when it’s freezing outside?”
