Some thoughts on OFMD and the future
The renewal efforts weren't for nothing. What brings me immense joy in this horrible time is the fact that we showed the cast and crew just how much we fucking adore them. I am so bloody devastated, but at least now everyone in the industry will know that David's name comes with a massive and loyal following.
As far as hope for something new and OFMD-related, I don't think I'll ever lose it. Obviously not as powerful as before, but it's still there.
There are still ways (however far-fetched) that something may happen. I mean, we've just seen a show get picked up three years after its cancellation!
I've been in the GO fandom since before the show came out (I don't post anything, but I lurk in there quite frequently lol), and after season one, I thought it was done. Then two years later the s2 announcement came.
I see two kinda-possible routes for OFMD. One, Zaslav finally does something so atrocious that he gets kicked out. Then with him gone renewing one of the most successful IPs on Max will be a no-brainer to restore their reputation (😉). And two, Max implodes or comes really close to it, and to make at least some money out of it, Zas will chill the fuck out with the prices and the show will be sold to someone who wants it.
Yes, both are highly unlikely. But OFMD is fucking massive and the industry is crazy und unpredictable, so who the fuck knows honestly. All I know is that I'm not going anywhere. And I'm so endlessly grateful that this show exists in the first place.
Sending everyone lots of virtual hugs. The fandom is not going anywhere. And we'll come together again for any new projects David leads in the future. I love each and every one of you so much.
