INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (1994) dir. Neil Jordan

1994 and 2022 Claudias!
Louis de Pointe du Lac (1994) is boring, he's much more interesting in the series. It's an internal dilemma and his relationship with Lestat is much more alive

THE HAIR IS PARTED THE SAME WAY, TOO!
Completely unrelated to the scene itself, but Lestat reminded me so much of Brad Pitt's Louis, I can't get over it. It's the jawline I think.

When they anounced the movie casting I was baffled the blonde hunk was supposed to play Louis.
But I guess Tom Cruise is too manic to play someone who's depressed. And at least he brought a certain amount of insanity to Lestat.
I finally watched the IWTV movie last night for the first time and my head is still reeling from all the insanity I just witnessed. I can't possibly compile all my thoughts into one post because it was so fun and so bizarre and my brain chemistry has been altered in ways I cannot describe.
One thing I will say, though, is how brave Kirsten Dunst was to act in a film that was obviously far too mature for her age, but also how well she did. She deserved an award! She deserved all the awards!
Louder for the people in the back! 👏
"This is the way I feel about the homoerotic issue: I don't care either way," confesses Cruise. "It's nothing I worry about. I'm an actor and I play a character. I do find it a very sensual movie, because everything that Lestat does he does out of love and longing— yet he's sadistic. Lestat certainly loves Louis. He wants a companion. And Louis is beautiful; Lestat finds him so. But, also, Lestat created this creature that Louis has become, so he is very fatherly about it."
