then who is your favorite character and favorite couple on skins first generation? and why

Jal and Chris were my favourite couple hands down because well first of all, I really liked Jal and Chris individually as characters.

Jal was my favourite because I related to her the most. I am that person in my group of friends, the rational, sceptical, “always says no” person who has one particular talent (for me it’s writing) with that one teacher (in high school and in uni) who pushed her and who the education system (in high school) wanted to prop up as their like, “success” story because my god, she’s black and she got into all these universities and won these awards! So basically a lot of Jal’s storylines were things I personally experienced except for you know, teen pregnancy and having something I love destroyed by drug dealers because one of my best friends can’t get his shit together and the man I love dying. Lol.

And I already liked Chris because he was such an endearing character. He fucked so many things up for himself and I usually get really irritated with characters like that but Joe Dempsie did a really great job in making you care for Chris anyway, in striking a balance between the “fuck it” carefree, pill-popping, funny guy and the scared, lonely kid who just needed someone to give a shit about him.

So when they get together I was happy that the two characters I liked the most got together and it also made perfect sense. Like I didn’t expect it to happen but the episode their build-up happens and their actual getting together, it makes sense because they’re on complete opposite ends of the spectrum but they can help each other and that’s what their relationship was predicated on, both of them introducing a little bit of their world into the other person’s life. Plus and almost most importantly, Larissa and Joe had great chemistry like I believed it man, I believed so much that Jal and Chris cared about each other and loved one another:

So like it was THEM for me. I also loved Cassie and Sid but Jal and Chris were my OTP.
