I'm so glad you show so much love for Jayce. I feel very defensive of him despite his obvious flaws and ngl the disparaging and like...questioning of the intelligence of a canonly brown, latino-coded scientist makes me uncomfortable as someone whose father in STEM got his intelligence questioned all the time with very obvious racially charged remarks. like it's fine to jokingly call him a himbo, impulsive or inept at some social cues (which, canon lmao) but some parts of fandom seem to gleefully forget that he started the research and is as smart as viktor. SORRY FOR RANTING I'm just glad there is Jayce appreciation XD
omg f0r and i were just talking abt this, jayce is literally the protagonist of the show's secondary plotline and ppl still read his character in bad faith. you're right to call it racially charged when it's ALWAYS in comparison to viktor's intelligence. it's the same issue with how ppl exaggerate both of their personalities at opposite extremes to contrast them more as a duo. so if viktor is going to be a weak, quiet genius (a very bad faith read of his character as well), then jayce must be the burly, loud himbo. naturally 🙄
i'm glad you can tell how much love i put into understanding and portraying jayce bc all those cold takes needs to be cancelled out. we have to work together on this okay, we have to combine the forces of our jayce appreciation
