Jungkook had let him stomp away and had growled at Tae who had tried to run after him. If Jimin wanted to do this his way then he should but no wolf would come after him. If Jimin wanted to come back he could, if not…
A painful ache ruined his face of pretending that he was perfectly fine without him.
Jungkook was lying on the floor because it was cooler than the bed and more solid. He was sweating too much, but he refused to do what Jimin had accused him of “getting rid of the heat” so he just stubbornly laid there without a blanket. Face on the floor while hoping that the cool night air would bring him some relief so that he could be able to sleep for at least a few hours. He felt awful. His mind was eating itself alive over the thought of what Jimin was doing and where he was right now.

He had his eyes closed. No wind at all, just pure silence. The wolf snapped his eyes back open, gaze moving very slowly as if they were studying every single pine needle. The silence was bad; without wind, they would be easy to hear, having to move especially quietly. The forest and the mist thickened and wrapped about him like a cloak; everything disappeared outside a ten-foot sweep. The small pack walked ahead silently, following a narrow trail that wound snakelike through vast, empty stretches of swamp.
Namjoon could feel a slight temperature drop that made him look up to see that the fog had thickened. It had gotten quieter. No chirping birds. No trickling streams. Nothing.
They were getting close.

“Jiminie!” A voice called out, followed by a knock, “He! Are you still sleeping? The others already had breakfast and we’re waiting for you two!” Taehyung rolled his eyes, ignoring Namjoon passing him with a raised eyebrow that spoke more than thousand words. All of them had heard the two last night and maybe that was exactly why he wanted to check up on his best friend.

The cold season came early, glowing white across the river and the dark edge of the forest and thin ice was appearing on the small brook nearby. Every morning, a thousand different shades of gray were blurring together over the mist-shrouded field and forest. And in the evening, from where he stood, Jimin could see the leaves on the trees change from summer green to autumn gold and brown, frost settling on them, as the sun was setting low on the horizon. The wind was strong enough to send the leaves flying like flakes of copper across the dark ground. Inside it was delightfully warm, the flickering heat from the flames in the fireplace making it perfectly cozy. Jimin got on his tiptoes, leaning over to see a little more.
There was a wolf sitting at the entrance of the woods, his chest heaving with every breath, mist forming at his snout where the warm breath met the cold air. There was someone moving closer to him and Jimin held his breath.

He ran in panic. His lungs were burning but he couldn’t stop. He just had to move, had to take another step. Jimin could feel him slipping through his fingers like water and he could do nothing to stop it. He wiped the tears away and reached for the flashlight again. His breath came in short gasps, his fingers grasped at something only he could see. Time was running out. The flashlight was not helping at all as he stumbled through the woods, crying out for him until his throat hurt. He could feel his lungs near bursting.
Jimin had no time to look back, could only brush the branches from his face and keep going. Sprinting, balancing and dodging thick trees Jimin ran towards something.
