I realized two (2) things drawing this :

I never really drew Ivy full body with that regular outfit. Like, just once. For her first design a year ago. And I NEVER color it before 😶 that's so insane like, the first outfit is so different from the new one ! I mean, not THAT much but still 😳 in my head it was so clear like-

Anyways, second I haven't full colored an oc with markers since n o v e m b e r. That is so weird like- I was this lazy ? It's soo much work to choose the good colors and make sure it doesn't looks weird once it's done 💀

Aaaah anyways now I feel better, I can colorized some of my comics and I feel better with it 👌🏾

I recently wrote to myself that Jim needs to hear it but he himself has a hard time saying things like "I like/love you". To say "I like you" to Ivy took him two years help. Ivy understood it very early and always takes the time to say when he's a bit down "you're so important to me and to all the people around you shut the fuck up" and says she likes him every time she leaves him

Little exemple, he never told his best friend Satoru that he likes him. Never. Yet Satoru knows he does because of simple things he's the only one to do for him 🥺

And hugs are like- THE thing he can't help to do, now. For a moment he couldn't accept any kind of affection because he grew uncomfortable with showing it because of his father, but being close to Ivy that is sooo tactile kinda help him appreciate the idea of having someone to cuddle anytime he wants (even if he was very shy about it at first, awn)

And finally you gave me the urge to draw him koala hugging Ivy so here

I can't help myself, but sometimes I'm lazy.

Now it's not that I don't like the ghibli one, but I didn't make enough I think 🤔 it could be better, same with SVSTFOE and Naruto 💁🏾‍♀️

OK so long time ago I had this AU idea where Ivy and Jim don't meet at 12yo but at 26yo, so looong time after the movie, so lemme share a bit of it because its kinda cool👾

Honestly this AU was supposed to be the actual story I've got in my mind but thought it was cuter to have them together right now 🧍🏾‍♀️❤️ but I often think of this original idea and how this could've also been fun

Sooo in this AU, Jim still follow his path and becomes Captain Amelia's second in command, while Ivy, who in our universe wishes to be an engineer and well-known inventor, becomes instead a Lady well-known for her genius musical talent and wins a lot of money, investing in sciences. She's also a big investor in the Royal Galactic Astral Academy (the school Jim is going at the end of the movie) and this is thanks to the respect the director of the school has for her that he asks Jim to be her bodyguard during the trip to a very big charity event.

So you see that coming, their ship got attacked by pirates and Jim and Ivy crashed in their shuttle on a tropical planet, which is also the foes's den that wants to capture Ivy because she's, well, rich and also has one of the artefacts that were about to be sold at the charity event. So they have to go through all the planet to find the safety camp where they will be rescued. Through this tough journey, hey grow closer to each other and by the end Jim basically asks Ivy out and she grandly accepts 👀🍵

First time you see Ivy's dads and it's during one of their most absurd moment help 😭✋🏾 also Sarah would've ask Ivy to call her mom but she didn't wanted to make her uncomfortable (because they just started dating so yeah) so she just told her to call her Sarah instead 🥺💖

I like how they're like the opposite of each other 🥰 Terrence is very protective and a bit strict because he wants to protect his kids so bad he tends to forget that they are growing, while Léonard is more chill and a bit too much softhearted, but thanks to his high and massive apparence, he doesn't have to go hard to look intimidating 🐏

Now is it just me or does Ivy straight up chose a guy that looks like her father ?💀 because I realized while drawing this that Terrence and Jim were... pretty similar in some ways... it wasn't on purpose but now I can't unsee it 😬

I only watched it like- a month ago for the first time and yet I fell in love with it xD I regret not watching it when I was young 😮‍💨

Anyway so just decided to work on the art style with Jim and Ivy(mostly her because I love her charadesign as the Ivy Princess) and here it is 🙈

I even made a little animation ! Its not good buuuut I like it

This was soooo much fun 😆😆 I want to do more but the homework 🥲

When I'll do more, I'll post it again ! I also plan to make them in colors 😏 I can't wait !

The first time Jim saw her, he just ran out of glue and had a fight with his mom.

It was early in the morning and he spent all night working on his best friend's first solar surf that he planned to offer as a birthday gift in five days. He wanted it to be perfect for Satoru. He was part of the few people that wasn't disappointed in him after all, and since it's the first time he was asking for something else than food or animal books, it was the least he could do for him. He's been working on it for weeks all day long ! So he was very frustrated when his mom came into his room to tell him to do something else and help her with the housekeeping and the clients. She didn't say it like he never did, but today was a full day and Sarah felt overwhelmed, all by herself. He tried to stay put, explaining that he was too busy, but the lack of sleep made him more aggressive than he actually was and Sarah couldn't understand how important it was to him. So, before saying things he would regret, he quickly left with his work in a large bag to go to the place he liked to go when everything was wrong. That's when he arrived that he realized he had no glue left and that enraged him more that it should have. Screaming, shouting at everything and kicking anything before falling on the ground, tired.

That is then that she appeared, out of nowhere, with a soft "Excuse me ?" as if she was scared to be heard. As he was upset already, he was ready to be rude as hell toward this disturbance that probably wanted him to get his ass out of here, but the sweet smile she gave him neutralized any attempt to be annoyed. She was dressed in a red long dress with a black corset, the kind of dress that only the well established girls at his school wore, or so he remembered since he didn't go to school for ten days now, and since he never really looked at girls... He never cared about them, after all, just like he couldn't care less about these lessons he could learn at home. What intrigued him the most was the nose piercing. Neither girl at his school would have pierced their nose, especially not when they look so tidy like she did. Even Barb, one of his friends or so he could say, had a lot of tattoos but not one piercing in sight. So seeing such a girly girl with a nose piercing coming straight at he got him confused.

"Hello !" she said, her smile lighting her face, taking Jim aback. He saw this smile before, once or twice, maybe. Yeah, this girl was in another class, but she was quite popular, if he remembered correctly. Which confused him even more, popular people didn't care about him at all most of the time. Saule McCurthy, or something. "Huh... Hello ?" he answered, "Do we... know each other ?" He knew the answer, but who knew ? Maybe they did and he just didn't care about it enough to remember. "Haha, no... not really ! I was just wondering what you were doing those past days." she laughed nervously, pointing at the solar surf. Jim stayed silent, surprised about her words when her eyes suddenly widened, as if she realized what she just said. "Not that I was stalking you, or something ! I mean, I did see you a while ago but... it's just that it looks very interesting !" Jim wanted to laugh. Her deer eyes wide open and squeaky voice would've been source of jesters if he wasn't so embarrassed by the idea of someone watching him working on his solar surf - mostly because he did not work on this surf only, he had been squatting this place for a while. A lot of questions came to his mind : who was she ? Since when was she watching him ? How does she find his work ? But it was the most obvious words that came out of his mouth. "Oh, so you saw me work ?", of course she did, "Yes, I did !" she said, confident without spotting the obvious. "But... I've never seen you before ?" and he was sure of this, since it is the exact reason he chose this spot to work alone.

This is a quiet meadow with a view on the sea of clouds. An empty space with only neighbour nothing but a little cottage, shredded by time but quite nice now that he took the time to "restore" it. Nothing much, he just cleaned it a bit and used the old scrap iron as material to block some holes on the roof and the walls. It's decent now that he put a poof to rest a bit, but he highly doubted a girl like her would stay in there just to watch him from afar and then disappear until now.

"Obviously." she smiled pointing at a cliff kilometers away from them. "It's because I stayed up there, in my daddy's shed. I saw you by chance from there with his telescope." she mimicked it with her hands, "You were flying among the clouds, like a bird." she added, so lowly that Jim didn't hear her, especially as he was looking at the cliff, surprised that someone was actually working here. He didn't pay any attention to it the first time he came but now that he actually look at it, he couldn't contain a "Wow ! It's huge !" And, indeed, it was nothing like the little house he found five minutes away. The cliff was pretty far from them and yet, he could see it perfectly, so perfectly that he was wondering how he could've miss it all this time. "Yeeeaah my daddy often comes here when Dad is in a bad mood. He also likes having a lot of space when he works, so he moved from the capital for here. Anyway !" she brushed off while sitting next to him, "Sooo what is it ?" but Jim didn't say a word for a moment, surprised by the sudden scent of lavender and cinnamon mixed with sawdust. The gaze she gave him startled him because she laughed nervously, playing with her fingers "Sorry, did I bother you ? I was just curious...", "No it's fine." he quickly said, looking away. Somehow, he knew she would leave if he hadn't say something. She then stayed still, listening to Jim talking about his birthday gift, where he found some of his materials, how frustrated he was by the foot straps because it should be larger, and how much he needed to quick find glue. "And I still have not find a way to solder the motor... it's not perfect, but..." "It's AWESOME !" he heard before he could finish his sentence. "I have never seen such work before ! And you said you got it from random materials ? That's insane ! What motor did you use ? Oho, that's an old model ! I thought they didn't make these anymore... Did you use resin for a plastic effect ? Oh ! Did you paint your signature ? It's cool ! I have one too, but it's not that nice. Ah ! Seems like it use solar power and fuel !? Is the fuel an assurance ? That's brillant ! Very clever ! Wait, wait ! With what have you filed these helix ? Even daddy would not let me use a metal file !" she claimed passing a finger on one of the pale "So sharp ! That's some pro work !" She kept admiring the unfinished surf while Jim was seriously considering pinching himself. A pretty girl, coming out of nowhere, was talking to him and was actively excited by something as ungraceful as a solar surf ? This had to be some weird piece of his imagination. "Are you... do you really like that kind of stuff ?" he asked. She then went quiet, playing with her fingers again, and he felt that she was going to tell a truth he didn't want to hear. Something among the lines of "Not really, I just saw you being upset at something and just wanted you to shut up." If that so, then she made him lost his time and it already got him upset even more.

But that's not what she said. "Well... yeah... I know it's not very lady-like of me, though... almost all my professors tell me so. Even my dad sometimes thinks I should have more soft passions but engines are way more cool ! Uh- I mean..." her eyes widened again and she started moving her hands all around her face. "Sorry, I'm pushing it again ! It-it's just that, uh, kids my age do not care at all about these kind of things and-uh, you know, they think I'm just a weird, rich and spoiled girl, haha... I bet you thought the same ! It's fine, forget it, I'm used to it. Oh ! No way ! Is it a solar sail ?! It's not easy to find one ! Where did you find it ?" And while she was admiring the sail as if she had never seen one before, Jim felt something coming off his chest. It was like the more she talked, the more comfort he felt and that is something he only felt with Satoru. He didn't know who said she was a spoiled girl, but they were wrong. "Uhm... would you mind if I stay ? To watch. I can help too ! Even if I don't know how to..." "It's fine." he accepted, "You can stay, but you should tell me your named, lady." He restrained a laugh when she looked at him with an embarrassed smile and her hands on her face. "Oh, yes, of course... my name !" she cleared her throat and landed a hand that Jim shook carefully, but realized her hands were almost as rough as his. "Ivonne McKeith ! But you can call me Ivy." Ivy McKeith ! Of course, it was. "Sounds great. I'm Jim Hakwins. Nice to meet you, Ivy !" "You took the words right of my mouth, Jim ! So, what's the plan ?" For the rest of the afternoon, Jim got a lot of help from Ivy. She got him the glue he needed from her personal stock at her father's shed and then listened while he was slowly but surely talking about how he was surprised when Satoru asked for a solar surf, especially since he's a bat himself, how he still bought a book he knew his friend wanted for a while and that it took him weeks of works and months of savings to get enough to buy it. She listened to him with her whole attention, gasping at a moment, laughing at another, and before they realized, it was dark and Ivy's father called her back.

"It was fun, today !" she claimed, dusting her dress with one hand. "I see you at school, Monday ?", "Oh, uh... yeah, probably." he said in a whisper. "Good ! You will see me in the east hall, I'm staying there all the time ! First break, lunch, second break, skipping classes..." Mr. McKeith called Ivy, cutting her for good. "I'm coming ! Well, see you, Hakwins !" she waved at him with a last bright smile before running to her father. As she was walking away, Jim waved back, murmuring as if she was still next to him "See you, McKeith."

When he finally got home, Jim felt better, even lighter than these past days. He even washed the dishes and made dinner for his mom and Dr. Doppler that stayed a bit to help clean the place. But a question was bugging him.

While eating, he put on his fork and asked his mom "If a person told you that they wanted to see you somewhere soon... and you wanted to see them again too," he started, choosing his words carefully, "But you don't want to go to that place ? Like, at all. But you just met this person and you don't know if you will see them again if you don't go to that place, and you don't want to disappoint them if they're waiting for you. But at the same time, you don't know if they will actually wait for you to come because, after all, you spoke to each other only one day, and you're not really friends, and they are kinda popular so probably very busy with other people... What would you do ?"

Sarah and Dr. Doppler exchanged a look. Delbert coughed, hiding a little smile while Sarah looked at Jim, reading his eyes like when he was eight. That was how she could know what he was thinking. His eyes turned around, not wanting his mom to know what he didn't want to tell her. He didn't want to talk about this unexpected meeting. About her. He kept this to himself, to keep this safe feeling for him only, scared that, if someone else knew, this moment would faded away, as if it never happened and it was just his imagination due to sleep depraving. And if it was all a mockery, he would rather not tell anyone about it.

But Sarah smirked and said "Well, if I was so reluctant about this place, I would have explained this person right in the moment that we should choose another place !" She laughed, seeing Jim's dumbfounded face. He felt a bit stupid for not thinking something this clear earlier.

"But I would go to be sure. I would wait until they come and propose another place, next time, like the one where we met. If I want to befriend this person, I should not be scared to do things they like, but I should not be scared to tell them my opinion. And if they want to be my friend too, I'm sure they will understand me. It's not like this place will eat me alive !" "Right. Right... but what if sh-they... are not there ?" "With "what if ?"'s you can rewrite the world, Jim !" laughed Dr. Doppler, grabbing his glass of water. "I advice you to have a good night of sleep. You cant think clearly with a sleep deprived mind." Jim winced. Why did his mom had to talk about this to him ? Sarah chuckled too before saying "Maybe you'll know what you want to do, then. If not... it's up to you until the last second."
