Very simple Jimmy doodles!! I've missed drawing him. I'd also like to rant about my personal take on the cultural significance of the Codfathers (and the Head) in the cod empire because I just think it's interesting ^_^

Codfathers never show their bare faces because it's a sign of vulnerability. To put your face out there, your emotions in an open book, that takes trust. And so it's rare to see the codfather take his 'head' off. Usually, the codfather head is only to be removed around immediate family and your spouse.

The reason they care so much about showing your bare face is because for years, all the cod empire had was it's dignity. They were smaller in numbers, they weren't quite as experienced in politics as the other Kingdoms, but they had their pride. And so to lose it, to lose the respect that was given to them by losing composure, would be a great dishonour to them.

Small things I headcanon:

- Jimmy only uses the head at meetings, other times in the swamp, (which is way too humid for the mask I designed) he actually uses a sort of veil.

- He never got to show Scott his face (scott remembered from third life, fractions of Jimmy's small details. But they were blurry) because to be able to show Scott his face, he'd have to pass the six month courting mark (and go through a drowning ritual)

I decided to draw over one of my oldest Flower husbands drawings, i'm actually really happy with this <3

I miss my vibrancy, but i don't think it would've fit with what i was kinda going for, i'll experiment with my colours soon, i promise (to myself)

Anyways I don't think the flower husbands would have a ring bearing ceremony, I think tying the knot just fits them more. Engagement rings? Sure, but they aren't that important to them.

So anyways, in third life Jimmy and Scott were constantly in armour (except for when they were sleeping, but even then their armour was in reach.) Ausgshs i just think it's devestating HSGDGDHDHSH. Do you think they miss the lightness in their chests when they're free of them or does it just make them uneasy now?

I think that intimate moments like this were rare, actually. They were married, they loved, kissed, held and knew eachothers souls like they were bound by needle and thread. But they didn't have the time. (Scott wonders what could've happened if they just had time to live longer and not just survive.) When they had time to themselves, no visitors and no death they were cherished so dearly by the both of them.

OH YEAH, in my mind, Jimmy "earns" his canary wings when he dies and turns into a watcher/spectator in the void. On yellow, he earned his facial feathers.

Before lizzie transformed into ab axolotl hybrid, she was tall. Like, not god tall but taller than most (except for pearl, they were eye to eye) so when Joel saw her for the first time since the dwd (deal with destiny) he went ZOOOWEEEEMAMA you know??

Also mezelea has like. The cutest courting rituals and i mean it. They take the dried up spore blossom leaves (which are ancient by the way, spore blossoms don't die quick or easy) and they use it to make something akin to henna. That henna is used for elders (parents/guardians) and friends to write blessings on their forearms and the back of their hands. And then what is left of the ink is for the couple to write their vows on on eachothers upper backs. It is then left to stain until it washes off by itself. (It is said that the wishes and blessings stay.)

Also can we like talk about her kingdom. She figured out how to grow trees on lilypads and that's fucking AWESOME that is an achievement.

Akdhdjka i really enjoyed figuring his hair out, it's so simple BUT I DID GO THROUGH SOME TROUBLW GETTING IT TO WHERE IT IS

Also i'm now realizing he looks like those college au dipper pines designs??
