Ok, but Cannonically I see two reasons for this happening

1. Percy forgot which cabin Clovis is from

Makes sense, wouldn’t put it past him (look I haven’t read the other books in a while I have no idea what yall are talking about when you say they dumbed him down) he doesn’t remember Hecate either (since they were both mentioned in passing, and he probably didn’t know Clovis too well.)

OR

2. Morpheus had decided to steal his half siblings and everyone kinda just went along with it. (Including Percy)

No reason for this one, I just think it’d be funny

Headcannon time!

During (and before) the battle of manhattan Morpheus was fucking up the demigods sleep (i.e. not being able to wake up from a nightmare, nightmares in general, etc.), and the Hypnos kids (if there were any besides Clovis) were making sure ppl could actually sleep since they weren’t going to be fighting anyways.
