Luke was evil but what happened to him was heartbreaking. He was destined to be evil, he lived with a mother that couldn’t really do for him because she went insane because of the power she so desired, and his father just left him. He was dealt a bad hand even before birth. No one could or even want to help him besides Annabeth but by that point it was too late. He already started his journey and sealed his fate. So yeah Luke was evil but he was also a kid. A kid that was scared and abandoned. He didn’t even want to be used by Kronos but he was already in too deep and he was fighting for a cause. I don’t commend Luke in anyway but I understand Luke and feel empathetic for him.

As demigods on both sides of the war drew their swords, was it like looking in a mirror? How must it have felt, to be prepared to fight and kill someone just like you?

So you remember in TLO when it says that some of the nature spirits and minor gods clearly died trying to hold off enemy forces on Olympus?

Obviously Rick couldn't mention which SPECIFIC gods died without potentially creating mythological problems for himself.

But.

Even though we don't see it happening often, or at all outside of potentially Percy in the modern era honestly...

I like to imagine those minor gods were ascended former demigods. No powerful domain, no great legacy or living history like their parents.

It wasn't enough.

But in the end, they remembered what they had been before. Remembered being a scared half-mortal child against unimaginable forces.

And that was enough for them to try. To stand and fight while the other minor gods fled and the Olympians were too busy elsewhere to spare the attention. To rouse the nature spirits the way they would have in their mortal days.

I was experiencing some rain and thunder within my neighborhood today. Which fun fact I have a huge fear of so, to get my mind off of it I started drawing of how I think the coco puffs would look. I don’t remember how they were described (or if they were) but yk it was fun. Anyways I need some help naming them or renaming them. I also did Mrs O’Leary which has Nico on top because of TLO. Also Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Shoutout to the time in the last olympian where Nico takes Percy Jackson on the worst date of all time is convinced he’s doing a great job and then fucks it up so bad that Percy very nearly almost murders him.

You know what's even more gut wrenching?THERE BEING KIDS AS YOUNG AS SIX YEARS OLD In this war. And the newbies who just entered the camp Ind are months away from war (because not everyone is a percy jackson who can fight the for if war at 12 and win) who think they would be finally recognised by their parents. The trio thalia and nico got rewarded. What about the others? AND THEM HAVING TRAUMA FOR LIFE. Imagine them not knowing what the hell is going on but their brothers sisters and feeends are fighting and them getting hurt too. Imagine a kid. A LITERAL FUCKING KID WHO EAS SUPPOSED TO FRESHLY ENTER/GRADUATE FUCKING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL going to war with weapons twice their size.

Imagine these kids fighting wildly to protect their siblings and their goal of getting recognised, imagine them dying without a say.

This is why I headcanon as gruesome as it is for the Athena cabin to dwindle in numbers. Its original number was around 12 I headcanon them dropping to 9-7 members and most of the fallen are the young ones. The kids who have their whole life ahead of them. The kids whose final years and months were nothing but war. Whose innocence would be stripped away from their body because of said war.
