Making Your Room Magical

Hi everyone! So, I’ve mentioned before that there are a million different ways to incorporate magic into your every day life. I think that making magic part of your everyday routine is important, but you can also add a magical boost to your bedroom! Here are some ideas for making your room magical. Enjoy!
The Bed:
Draw sigils on the bed frame (maybe underneath the bed so that it’s out of sight) for good sleep or to ward off nightmares (or to add a little extra spice for when you bring guys from the bar home…I don’t judge.)
Or you could stitch sigils into your pillow case or sheets instead.
When you lay down to go to sleep, create a big energetic shield around your bed to protect you while you sleep
The Windows:
Enchant your curtains/shutters/blinds to keep out prying eyes
Place tarot cards, crystals, and other tools on the window sill to let them charge with the power of the moon/sun.
Open up the windows every once in a while to release all of the excess and negative energy out of your room and into the air.
The Carpet:
Make cleansing “floor washes” for your carpet by making a powder with herbs and baking soda. Sprinkle it over the carpet and vacuum to remove. If you have wood floors in your room, you can make a liquid floor wash instead.
The Shelves, Side Tables, etc.
Create a small altar on top of a shelf, side table, or other surface in your room. It can be to honor the deities that you worship, or it can be for something else like drawing in prosperity or good fortune.
Dedicate shelves to different purposes by anointing them with different magical oils.
The Walls:
Magically program the walls with protective energy, like a giant shield around the entire room
Enchant posters or paintings of people/celebrities/etc to watch over the room or give the room a certain desired vibe.
Create a “vision board” with pictures of things that you would like to have in the future (vacation destinations, dream jobs/houses, etc). Every time you look at it, send some energy into it. Over time, the build up of energy will help draw those things to you.
The Closet:
Write down things that you would like to keep secret from the world or things that you would like people to not notice. Hide the pieces of paper in the closet to hide them from the world like “skeletons in the closet”.
Charge your favorite clothes to help bring confidence, motivation etc. to you when you wear them.
These are just some ideas that you can play around with to keep magic alive in your everyday life :) If you have any questions, feel free to send me an ask. Thanks for reading,
Livi
"Fake" Witchcraft
There’s a lot of elitism in the witchy world so, I figured I might as well talk about it.
If you think witches need herbs, crystals, big beautiful books of shadows, or anything of that sort in order to be considered a “real” witch, there’s a problem. Those things, 9 times out of 10, require money and time. Not every witch has the ability to get crystals, herbs or those witch books in the stores. That doesn’t mean they aren’t witches, it just means that they’ll need to find a different way to work their magic.
Wanna know a secret? Magic doesn’t discriminate. A witch who uses primarily emoji magic is just as valid as a witch who uses primarily herbal magic. The only difference is the material they use. Either way, they are getting what they want with their magic.
This society is very fast paced, sometimes there’s not enough hours or energy in the day to do the big elaborate ritual that we would like to do. So, who’s to say the simpler magic is wrong and “fake”. It’s funny to even use the word “fake” in this situation anyway. Look at you, most people do not believe in witchcraft. In their eyes, you are “fake” and for some reason, you think you can turn around and call other witches “fake” because of their lack of materials or the way they choose to use magic.
Practicing traditional witchcraft doesn’t make you better than the witches who practice newer forms of magic, it just makes you a traditional witch. You have no more or less than the rest of us. In fact, you might want to learn more from us. There’s a lot of power in creativity and improvising.
Pet Peeve
Honestly one of the most frustrating things is when someone posts a spell (on tumblr or elsewhere) that includes an oil or incense or powder or potion that has a certain intent/potency to it but does not include the recipe for it or a link to the recipe.
I know google is a thing, but still. It would be really handy to consolidate that information, right?

Witches Against Catcalling
Okay, the results for this super easy spell are amazing.
I do a lot of visualization work and that’s all you need: your imagination.
At any time you want to be left alone from unwanted attention, imagine yourself draped in a black flowing cloak. This might be different for everyone, but mine has a hood and is made of light black material and covers my shoulders. The cloak covers you and the black gives you a fearsome aura. (Grey for fading into the background, but I prefer to have men fear me.) Hold up your concentration for optimal results.
Here’s my story: I live in an area where I was constantly catcalled the moment I set foot out the door. After using this method of combining color and visualization, I have been “catcalled” once in the last month. It used to be every day and that one time, I hadn’t concentrated on the upkeep of the black cloak.
Warning: Be aware that people react differently to feelings of fear. If you are in an aggressive place, it’s better to visualize yourself in a grey cloak of invisibility.
A Witch doesn’t need...
To wear black
To own a cat
To be Wiccan
To worship a god or gods
To be pagan
To be religious
To be secular
To be a Satanist
To practice divination
To be a woman
To be heterosexual
To be allosexual
To be cisgender
To keep their Craft secret
To tell the world about their Craft
To be white
To be thin
To be a social outcast
To be popular
To be old
To be young
To love Hallowe’en
To talk to spirits
To love walks in the woods
To recycle
To be a gardener
To be a Goth
To be a punk
To be a hipster
To be anything except exactly who they want to be.
Witchcraft is not a set of criteria.
Witchcraft is a state of mind.
Anyone can be a Witch, no matter who they are - they just have to accept it.

just witchy things
witches in movies: *cleansing a space with burning sage and ethereal chants*
me irl: *swinging wet rosemary sprig around the house* CLEANSE MOTHERFUCKER
concept:
a coffee shop run by witches, for witches (muggles welcome)
“witches brew” (a little tongue-in-cheek, eh?)
offering coffees and teas brewed with the correspondences of their ingredients listed, lovingly charged up by witchy barristas
familiars will be welcome on the patio (and given free treats)
witches and diviners curled up on plushly furnished window sills and in large comfy recliners, sipping their brew of choice, studying that field of magic they’re trying to master next, doing readings for themselves or friends or clients
along one wall, a large floor-to-ceiling bookshelf (complete with stepping-stool) of secondhand witchcraft resource books, free to pick up and peruse while you lounge, or you can bring your own book and trade it in for one of ours
commisioned sigil murals to protect the shop and improve the atmosphere (not to mention support those artsy witches)
at each table, little fact-versus-myth booklets about witchcraft and divination so non-magic-users/non-diviners can better understand our world and learn the truth behind the stereotypes, all in the form of a little fun, friendly, test-your-knowledge competition
witches would be welcome to submit their own recipes
DIY fridays: every friday night, free supplies provided for a witchy arts and crafts session
and of course to avoid legal problems some lovely signage explaining that we can’t legally claim that our drinks will change your life
i think i’ve just found my dream
UPDATE: optional free “message from the tarot” written on the cup sleeve, based on a one-card draw for the customer
