spent a lot of times with schemes and have finally made the trek back to stacks, which was the initial goal (the initial goal was to go into operations research but then i had a very nice teacher)

i don't know if this is a more universal situation
i assume it is
where you feel like you learn absolutely nothing in mathematics (or any science)
because the more you learn
the more there is you don't know yet
and you realize just how much you'll never know
but then you look back at what you've learned
and it's a bit insane
growth is slow and painful and often only seen in retrospect
but it is happening
anyway
i hated geometry in school
