Bokuto felt it, there's no denying that he knew right away you're were his soulmate.
He felt the way your emotions pulsed through him on the day where you got your mark; He felt sadness and guilt grow in the pit of his stomsch the longer he stared at you.
On the other hand, you're about to make a run for it, you couldn't control your emotions and you might break down on the spot if you didn't leave.
Tsukishima looked around and saw the situation you were in, causing him to sigh. It's very clear that you need saving. Since he doesn't feel like a saint, he nudged Kageyama who was peacefully eating.
"L/n is in trouble- are you actually choking?" He uttered in disbelief as Kageyama lightly punched his chest. Noticing that someone is choking behind him, Akaashi quickly turned around and gave water to Kageyama, suddenly stopping when he saw one of his nightmares happening.
Bokuto grabbing your arm and leading you away from the public.
He felt his throat tighten and before he knew it, his feet led him to where you both are, hiding himself behind a wall.
Koutaro felt like shit.
He now then realized how much of an asshole he was, how he neglected your feelings and rejecting the bond instantly as soon as you both got it.
Even though he carries the heavy weight of regret in his shoulders, he only muttered out a weak—
"Sorry."
The small word that carried so much meanings, emotions and weight.
You couldn't help but sob, as you looked at him. Bokuto felt his heart break at the sight, knowing it's because of him.
"It doesn't mean anything now."
Akaashi bit his lip, his heart stinging in pain as he closed his eyes and sighed.
Koutaro desperately tries to hold your hand, pain and guilt heavily reflecting in his golden eyes. You flinched, pulling your hands away. He shouldn't be touching you; What will happen if his boyfriend sees?
"Bokuto-san, it's alright. Don't worry."
He frantically shakes his head, "Please.. let me make it right.."
You sighed, and looked up to meet his gaze. "I don't know what you wanna make right Bokuto-san. Also, i'm sure Akaashi-san will look for you now. If you'll excuse me." You mumbled and left.
Bokuto watched you walk away. Your footsteps echoing as he stood there, eyes transfixed on your form slowly intermingling with the others.
So this is what it feels like.
Akaashi bit his lip as he walked towards his lover. The footsteps that Koutaro already memorized which effectively snapped him out of his daze.
"Kou..."
Keiji cautiously approached him, he doesn't know how Bokuto would react about the situation.
"Akaashi.."
Bokuto mumbled, back still facing his lover. Akaashi tried to calm his racing heart as he responds.
"You knew, didn't you?" Bokuto's voice was small, and shaky. Keiji looked at him, beads of sweat forming on his neck.
"I don't know what you're talking about, Kou-"
Bokuto slowly turned around, "Dont lie to me.. you knew she was here but you didn't even tell me!" He yelled, hurt and betrayal flashing across his face.
Akaashi tried to step closer to him but Koutaro took a step back. "I-I can explain.."
Bokuto shaked his head, hot tears spilling from his eyes. "You know that I wanted to talk to them about this.. Do you know how she felt? We made her feel like it's her fault because I rejected the bond!" He gripped his hair, clearly distraught about the ordeal.
Akaashi whimpered, "I'm sorry kou... I-i don't want you to leave me for her.." Bokuto looked at him with unclear emotions.
"I know that sometimes your insecurity gets the best of you but.. that's where I come in, don't you trust me?"
"I trust you, Kou..."
"Save it, Akaashi.. Let's just talk about it when we get home.." Bokuto mumbled.
Little do they know there's a sly kitten hiding behind a corner.
