Laufey Is A Caring Dad - Tumblr Posts

Look, everybody! It’s a happy Laufey with little Loki in his arms!

Seriously, this is all I ever wanted. And it only took Marvel 10  years.

The rest of the what if? episode was fun but nothing could top this moment. My heart may have grown three sizes. <3

thinking about how loki was wanted :)

I genuinely love the image of Laufey as a kind and caring father. My +500k fanfic is testament to that.

But I never doubted that in the movie Laufey truly abandoned Loki. Odin didn’t have to fight anyone to get to Loki in the temple; Laufey never searches for his son in his 1000 years of life, and frankly I cannot believe that Frigga would have been okay with raising a kidnapped child.

And there is that scene in the original script in which Laufey pretty much says that he wanted Loki dead. Source: https://imsdb.com/scripts/Thor.html:

"LOKI

You have no idea what I am.

The blueness spreads across his face, as Laufey and the guards stare in shock. Loki grins.

LOKI (CONT'D)

Hello, Father.

Laufey releases him. Loki's body turns back to normal. Intrigued, Laufey sizes up his son.

LAUFEY

Ah, the bastard son. I thought Odin had killed you. That's what I         would have done. He's as weak as you are.

LOKI

No longer weak. I now rule Asgard, until Odin awakens. Perhaps you   should not have so carelessly abandoned me.

This gives Laufey pause.

LAUFEY

Or perhaps it was the wisest choice I've ever made. I will hear you. "

The tragedy of Loki is not that he was taken from a loving family and raised by people who hated him. It’s that he had a loving family on Asgard, which he lost because of his parents’ lies, Odin’s choice to have his sons compete for his affections, and Loki’s overwhelming envy of Thor.

The butter knife vs dagger argument and i raise u. Loki fandom not knowing the difference between baby dumping and infanticide (is there a difference?)

Yeah, there's a difference between abandoning a baby and infanticide. I would definitely categorize what happens to baby Loki as an attempt at infanticide.

The only thing I can think of in the Loki fandom that you might be referring to is the idiotic popular fanon that Laufey left Loki in the temple to be protected?? From??? I'm not sure????? And Odin actually didn't save Loki, he kidnapped him???????
