Unnoticed

Taeyong x reader Genre: fluff? idek why do I put this if idk what to write? Warnings: None? I guess Word count: 1.4k (exactly 1,400 words wow) Summary: You knew from the start that Taeyong wasn't what other students thought he was. You never had a chance to talk to him, though, until now.

~~~~~~~ People are usually quick to judge you based on who you hang out with.
This is why even if he is the sweetest person in the world, being seen hanging out with Johnny Seo, Taeyong created a bad impression of himself to the rest of the college students.
Always kind to everyone, Taeyong wasn’t afraid to offer help to anyone he saw struggling. Soon, he stopped, after everyone declined and pulled shocked faces at the fact that a guy like Taeyong tried to talk to them.
Taeyong sat in the library, staring at the wall and thought about what he could have done so wrong to have people treat him like this.
His mind drifted to your friend, Jiyoon. She was a really sweet and quiet girl, always went unnoticed, even if she was always there. She had recently gotten out of a really abusive relationship and this had made her a closed shell. No matter how hard you and your group of friends tried to get her to trust people again, she was really hurt and didn’t listen to any of you.
Though, after being randomly paired with none other than Johnny Seo, for an assignment, she just needed to be seen talking to him once. After this, people started noticing her. The sudden attention at first shocked her, but it really helped her open up and regain her confidence. Now, the girl was glowing, having finally found herself again.
However, this positive effect seemed to only appear in women, since anyone that was a friend of Johnny Seo seemed to earn the "fuckboy" title.
It's not that Johnny, or any of his friends were fuckboys. It was just that a rumor an ex started about Johnny, soon lead to him and then all of his group of friends earning the title they so despised.
Taeyong was sad he was labeled as someone like this, just for having this certain group of friends, but still he wouldn’t trade them for the world.
"I'm sorry, the library seems to be full today, would you mind if I sat here? I'll be really quiet I promise." Your voice pulled him out of his thoughts. He looked around, indeed seeing the small library suddenly full of people and turned to look at you again, who was waiting for a reply. He simply nodded, a little too shocked as to why you chose his table out of everyone else's.
"Great, thank you, I promise you, you won’t even realize that I’m here." You said, sitting down and started pulling out your things.
Taeyong just sat there, secretly eyeing you opening your books and pulling out a few pencils and pens.
You didn’t spare him a glance, immediately focusing on your book and stopping a few times here and there to take a sip of your coffee or your water, or look around.
At a point you noticed how a table had emptied and turned to look at Taeyong. Your eyes met and he blushed, being caught staring at you and coughed, looking away.
"There's an empty table..." you trailed off and he turned to look at you again." Would you like me to move there so you can sit alone again?" You carefully asked and he shook his head 'no'.
"I don’t mind you being here. You can go if you want, but I really don't mind having you here. Either way, if you left then that would mean someone else might want to sit here and they might not be as quiet as you and I wouldn't want that" he joked and you sighed.
"No offence, but I don’t think anyone else would offer to sit here with you." You said and he raised his eyebrow, causing you to sigh again.
"I’m really sorry, this was really rude of me to say. But, you have created quite the bad impression to people." You said and he looked down.
"Oh my god, I'm really sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you, I thought you knew about it." You quickly started apologizing after seeing his reaction.
"It's okay, I knew it and I was just thinking about it. But, it hurts a little having it confirmed." He admitted and you pouted.
"You're not a bad guy, Taeyong. I remember when you used to go around and offer people help with studying. It was really sweet and I think people would really appreciate it." You said and he looked at you. "Do you think I could change people's opinion on me if I did this again?" He asked and you were thankful he didn’t question how you knew his name and didn’t comment on the fact that you had noticed him around since the beginning of his studies here.
"Maybe, but you could also start hanging out with some other people with a better reputation. I'm not saying you should quit your friends or anything, but maybe if you hung out with people like that, it would help you." You said and he seemed to be deep in thought.
You took his silence as a sign to turn back to your book, but soon his voice pulled you from your studying.
"Maybe..." he trailed off, avoiding your eyes and playing with his fingers.
He cleared his throat and spoke up again. "Maybe if I was seen around you, it could help show people I'm not as bad as they think I am" he said, but shook his head before you had a chance to react. "No, never mind, this would do the opposite. Instead of making me seem like a good person, it would ruin your reputation, since you'll be around someone like me," he said, still not looking at you.
"No, don't worry about it. I'm sure it will help you and even if it does ruin my reputation for a while, I can either fix it back, because of my friends, or simply let it be. To be honest, I don't really care about people's opinions and neither should you. But I know you actually do, so, I'm offering you my help." You said and he smiled, finally meeting your eyes.
"Thank you so much. I really needed this right now." He said and you grinned back at him. "Don't worry about it, I really wanted to be your friend for a long time, so now I finally have the chance" you said and your words shocked him.
"What? You wanted to be friends with me?" He said, his beautiful eyes widening, a cute confused expression forming on his face.
"Of course. I told you, I knew you were a good guy from the start. I wanted to talk to you, but that's when you stopped offering to help people, so I lost the chance to do so." You admitted and he was still looking at you shocked.
"Wow... I... don’t know what to say" he said, a big smile forming on his face.
"How about we go somewhere else to continue this? The librarian is staring at us with an angry expression, since we've been a little loud." You said and he chuckled.
"No problem, I know a really nice and quiet place. It's really cheap too, perfect for a college student." He offered and started collecting his things, as you did the same, the librarian sighing having finally gotten rid of the two of you. Her reaction made you and Taeyong chuckle.
"Nostalgia, right?" You said and he stopped walking and looked at you, again shocked.
"How did you know?" He asked and you chuckled.
"You know it from Johnny, right? That's where Jiyoon and he met up for their assignment. She learned it from me." You explained and he shook his head chuckling.
"You have shocked me too many times today" he said and you laughed.
"Be prepared, because you still don't know much about me" you said and he laughed.
"Is that a warning?" He joked and you chuckled.
"Yes," you joked back and you laughed together.
It seemed like your plan was already working, since people were already shocked, looking at the two of you leaving the campus together.
It was funny how you went unnoticed by him, even if you were constantly around, looking for a chance to finally talk to him.
But now that you did get the chance, you’ll enjoy every moment spent with him.
