Art from last July. My old friend and I had just started talking regularly again and we picked this project back up again. The year has gone so fast....like who even are these characters!! That's certainly not Lennon and that guy in the BU shirt morphed into Oli and hardly no remnants of the original remain. craziness.

He's so real for that, shiny clean converse are embarrassing like where are the holes and layers of dirt?

Someone said didn't know if Lennon and Tony were dating or best friends.

Sorry lol, they're just really good friends. The story is about their friendship and how sometimes soulmates are you. With the context of the comic it's more obvious they're best friends. I'm fully prepared for the ships but I feel like shipping them overlooks how important they are to each other in a platonic way.

I have so many thoughts about this but I'm not sure I'm getting my points across lol

Different art style who dis? (I'M OBSSESSED OK?)

They are so Rivers Cuomo and Billie Joe Armstrong coded.

This is so much more of a relaxed, quicker art style. It's a new take on the style I used to draw in back in high school. This is kind of what the original chapter looked like in 2017. (I'll post some pics later).

This art style feels much more effortless, much more me. I think in general it just fits better?

Redrawing old pieces in this simpler style... It's just... so much better... Deciding to change everything up felt insane, but it's working out.

changing my art style took this from a 3-hour illustration to 45 mins. and this fresh look feels so freeing, it doesn't have to be perfect anymore.

Sometimes I feel a little crazy about changing my art style to something so much simpler. Sometimes it feels like I'm giving up something great. It's weird, almost like I'm in shock by my own decision. But I think it was the right choice. I like the new vibe, and it's 75% quicker to draw like this. 👍
