Now that we heard about the devastating atrocious news of the Acolyte being canceled, can we please all go to Amandla’s Instagram and congratulate her for portraying Mae and Osha?? Please, let’s go show her some love. These incels are literally in her comments, spreading so much hate, and shoving it in her face that the series got canceled.

Black women in leading roles are never really protected from this stuff. They always have to put on a brave front when receiving the most vile shit from people (e.g., Candice Patton, Hailey Bailey, Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, etc). Amandla already suffered some hate for playing Rue in the Hunger Games. I can’t even imagine joining another franchise that’s filled with racist people who are so bitter with their lives.

Please send all your love to her. She’s been on the receiving end of these comments as soon as she got casted for the leading MC. And I’m getting quite fucking tired of seeing black women having to go through this all the time. I’m tired that these corporations are never trying to protect their actors. John Boyega had to go through the same thing with this fan base, which is why he never wants to return.

One thing about me is to always celebrate the accomplishments of women, especially black women. I’m tired of seeing this happening repeatedly. Please send the cast and the show runner some love. They really poured everything into the Acolyte and it’s such a shame to see it end.
