"Trans men who love women are lesbians"

I'd be concerned if I was a lesbian, considering my girlfriend is straight and I don't identify as a woman, femme, or nonbinary.

When I was younger, I had a handful lesbians who developed really uncomfortable crushes on me just because I'm a trans guy. I wasn't the only trans guy they did it to, they did this to every trans guy in my community. None of us liked this, it made us uncomfortable because these people didn't see us as guys. Then I personally don't identify with the label lesbian. I don't identify with womanhood.

So please, don't call trans men lesbians. This invalidates our gender identity. It's okay for a trans guy to be straight, to date women, to be attracted to women. This attraction doesn't make us lesbians, as we are men and don't even fit the definition of lesbian.

Now if you personally call yourself a lesbian as a trans guy, by all means do whatever the hell you want. Just don't apply this to the majority of trans guys, I keep seeing posts where people are calling straight trans men "lesbians" and it's just very inconsiderate, and it's something a lot of us have had transphobes call us to invalidate our gender.
