I just want to be unapologetically myself. Im unapologetically proud of my culture and where I'm from. I'm proud in being a solarpunk. I'm fiercely unapologetic in being happy and proud about my asexuality, sex-replusion, and other parts of my queerness. I'm proud to be a witch who learns things slow. Im accepting questioning and seeking help for my autism. I'm accepting of myself and whatever mistakes I have made or will make. I'm proud and happy and grateful to be a living human being who has slowly started to live for themself and accept herself as they are.

In the hopeful future we completely get rid of the effects of colonialism we all will be proud to be from Bharat.

Bharat

That name has almost no meaning anymore. India is all people talk of today. Indian developments, indian food, indian culture.

But when will we realize that by giving so much respect to India, we forget its true origins? India isn't even the correct name.

India was only ever called so because of the British, due to the Indus river, which THEY NAMED. Bharat is the name that we gave ourselves, and it should be used. Whenever one says India, they reference the name given to us by the British, who brutally enslaved many of the people, and attempted to whitewash our culture.

Call India by it's true name. Bharat.

Sometimes we ask questions out of curiosity, and sometimes we ask questions because we genuinely want to learn, however, I have highlighted some common questions and phrases that I have heard numerous times over, which at this point, tend to come from a place of ignorance. Let’s learn, and continue to open our minds to new subjects. Let’s teach others how to be more inclusive and what dialogue to use to get questions answered while being respectful. If you have ever encountered these questions/phrases (or know of any other ones) please share how you would respond and how we can help others learn to be better |  ZHK DESIGNS
