The process of finding out how to read and understand law was quite difficult for me owing to lack of guidance and interest.
But circumstances being different, it is worth noting that I have improved a lot in the last 6 months. Although my performance in tomorrow's exam is not going to measure up to my standards, it is still upwards progress. I am studying case laws and the bare act and unveiling the relationship between legal policy, law making, legislation, the legal researchers, the advocates and judicial decisions.
This semester, I
1. Understood the importance of legal research
2. Understood what constitutes jurisprudence in a particular area of law
3. Studied a bunch of judgements end to end and realised that a lot of context to the bare act is talked about in the judgements
4. Understood how judicial decisions fill in the blanks left by the legislature
My contract exam on 9th April was satisfactory. I know there can be a lot of improvements on how I study and write, but this was a good attempt. I am feeling encouraged to put more work in.
That was on Friday. I intended to start preparing immediately for Constitutional law which is on 13th but I was not productive yesterday. I'm going to use today to the best of my abilities though. They're digging a borewell right by my house but I have noise cancellation ear phones so thank God for that. I hope today will be good.
Yesterday’s paper went very badly and I cried so much. Upside was I had someone that held me tight. Taking some time to reflect and introspect.
Family law! I just realised that I could have studied this a long time ago because it is all so interesting but unfortunately I never pay attention until exam time
