when the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy said: you are inconsequential to the workings of everything around you. you are barely a speck in a sea of stars. there is so much out there that you cannot comprehend, and they do not care about you. but you are beautiful, and what you do matters. it may be lost forever one day, but it matters. when you swim in the ocean and kiss someone you love and sleep under the stars and stand in the rain and hold something in the palm of your hand, the universe smiles, though it does not know why. you are nothing, and you should take pride in it.

i read a lot of fantasy novels (like, a LOT a lot) and my current read is the pomegranate gate by ariel kaplan, a portal fantasy novel inspired by jewish myths and history, so when i say that it's one of the most fresh and unique books i've read in awhile and i genuinely have no idea where i think the characters and story will go next, that's one of the highest book compliments i can give
