Several Sentence Sunday
A little bit on the Williams family dynamics with Steve, which is basically the whole premise for this fic. It's gonna be real confusing with all these Eddie's and Steve's in other fandoms.

“Did Danny ever want it? To become a firefighter? I mean, after the age of six”, Steve found himself asking before his brain could think on it.
With a cursory glance from Eddie, Steve tried not to squirm as he squirmed out of the outfit. He watched as Eddie bobbed his head from side to side.
“He was never serious about it. I mean, he only started thinking about the police academy on his last years in college, so it wasn’t like he always wanted to be a first responder or anything. When he first started taking those economy classes, we all thought he was gonna pursue that, it’s the reason Matty ended up at Wall Street, but before the whole college thing, Danny didn’t really know what he wanted”
At that, Steve stopped, suspenders halfway off.
“Really? Danny was indecisive about what he wanted to be? Danny Williams?”
With another leveled look, Eddie huffed, hands working on the turnout coat so it was folded properly. With a deadpanned tone, he said, “He knew what he wanted to be. He knew he wanted to be someone we would be proud of, he figured college was the way to do that, because he didn’t want to be a firefighter and didn’t want to tell me, because he thought I’d be disappointed. No, he never stopped to consider we were already proud”

Once upon a time, there was a very handsome prince. And this handsome prince had a very beautiful black stallion. And this black stallion was admired by everybody in the kingdom. He was the fastest and fairest stallion in the land. About 528 horsepower, very nice stallion…anyway. One day, this incredibly handsome prince–Yeah, he was, he was out of sight, let me tell you. He was partnered up with a mean ogre. A disgusting, hairy ogre. It was not a match made in heaven. They would slay dragons together from time to time. And they’d argue all the time and, of course, the brilliant, charming prince would win those arguments, because the ogre was a dope. Despite their victories, there was a dark cloud that loomed. Because the dopey ogre coveted the handsome prince’s stallion, okay? And he was a very greedy, selfish ogre, with major control issues. And he would never let the handsome prince ride his own stallion.

wacky immediate post-finale happenings: so steve leaves on that plane in 10.22 and he has a talk with cath and the plane isn’t even halfway to its destination when he realizes that well shit, he hasn’t been gone more than ten hours and he already misses danny and hawaii like he’d miss a limb. so what does a smart man do? he gets off the plane as soon as it lands, hugs cath goodbye and thanks her for the talk, and books the very first flight that can take him in an ironically straight line right back to where he came from.
so he arrives at the house, and it’s probably been a day of non-stop travel and self-discovery and he hasn’t slept and he’s really looking forward to wrapping his arms around danny and watching danny pretend not to be pleased as punch that steve came back and then catch up on a lost night of sleep, preferably still with his arms wrapped around danny, if danny can be convinced to take a nap with him. and he walks in and he goes “junior, tani, hi!” and before he can say anything else junior’s eyes go wide and tani falls over laughing and it takes another minute or so, but eventually steve manages to get junior to tell him what’s up, and what’s up is danny (literally), who is at this very moment on a plane to wherever the heck steve just came from because he wanted to give one last grand speech to try to get steve to come home.
