"DON'T LAUGH!" I just stuttered on a word and a small chuckle was heard next to me. Michael was laying across the couch and I was kneeling in front of it with my arms resting over his torso with a book in hand.
He waved for me to continue with a little smile on his face, eyes still closed.
"And he- uh- he stood on the mo-... monahganamy?" Without a warning Michael's head shot up and leaned over the book, quickly finding my mistake before I could even try to correct myself.
"Mahogany"
"I was getting to it, you didn't let me finish"
"Read"
"Then stop being so annoying!" I was very upset, Michael can be such a difficult man.
As usual, I didn't get a response so started reading again.
"Why don't you ever read to me?" I complained and rest the book on the floor beside me.
A grunt, then he pushed himself up, me onto the floor and he walked over to our windowsill with books stacked in the frame.
He seemed to scan the spines and covers, never picked any up, and looked out the window in a hunched pose.
"You're such a grumpy old man, I don't know why I put up with you" The last part was to see if I could get a reaction, none.
I had heard about the lore of this scary, undomesticated man. He was still like that; going on killing sprees, the pure power, and force of anything he does, and not to forget he is still the silent type. I had heard these stories from a friend who grew up in Haddonfield, I was terrified but still grew up to live a town over.
This monster is quite a bit older than me but I never looked at him for the age he held in his belt, but for his love when he decided to give it to me, our little heartfelt conversations, when he lets me take care of him after a long hunt, and of course his strong and threatening body that I'm so ashamedly attracted to.
I wrapped my arms around his waist and looked out into the pond that sat in our front yard. He was watching the father and mother ducks lead their newborns around the water line.
"I'm sorry"
A deep breath broke the moment of silence and I was pushed off of my love once again.
"Uggh" I rolled my eyes and began to walk away.
A tough arm grabbed my hand and pulled me back gently, the other hand held one of my favorite books. It normally takes two hands or the crevice of my elbow but Michael held it with ease while he dragged me to a little armchair that caught half of the room's shadow and half of the windows shine of the late afternoon.
A tightness in my chest welcomed me when he sat in the chair and he patted his lap.
"Michael" I whispered out.
"Sit" He pat his lap again.
I obliged with needy eyes; curled up in the crevice between his thighs and wrapped my arms around his neck.
The whole time he read in his typical rough and tired voice, I was watching the way his mouth moved, the way his eyes scanned the page (though one of them is completely blind), and the big and small breaths he took, I could feel each one, all were precious to me.
I felt peaceful and relaxed but looked as if I was in awe of his presence. This silent, angry, and vengeful man was most definitely my world.
"Thank you for reading to me, Michael" I threw in as he turned a page. He just looked down at me as I shoved my face into his shoulder, a gentle kiss landed on the side of my head before he continued with the story.
Honestly, I'm love with old Michael, so cute! If you want more fluff stuff or smut or whatever just let me know, if I'm cool with that character I'll let ya know.
