I feel like too much is put on him finding out Ladybug's identity for why he became Chat Blanc when it was... so many things including revealing his identity to protect her which made his father target him more + finding out who he really was so close to the other betrayal. It wasn't a reveal privately out of trust, it was a bunch of information being thrown at him and being used to manipulate him and her flat out telling him who she is (+ likely, him saying the same then) shouldn't repeat that.
You're right! the cat blanc episode left us all with the feeling that they should never reveal their identities to each other even if we truly wanted them to, when it's just the way adrien found out, and marienette then later found out - was completely wrong. The reveal happened as mistake, adrien decided to keep him knowing ladybug's identity to himself, which led him to following his ( love ) heart to ladybug, rather than confessing to ladybug about it and them figuing out or planning out what to do and what kind of steps to take in order to pretend any kind of danger, even when knowing ladybug's identity.
If adrien was to know ladybug's identity becauise marienette would choose to tell him,i believe it would turn different. marienette would guide him, remind him of their purpose to keep their identities secret - marienette would be the responsible one to remind adrien to stay focused on what they do, than follow his love for ladybug during their missions, and so would adrien do. Cat blanc would be prevented that way, but i believe adrien wopuld turn into cat blanc ever before him finding out who is ladybug - he could most likelyto be turned to cat blanc for not managing to take major parts and save the situation in the many times we've seen in the recent episodes (and adrien being also clearly upset about it in Optigami), which that feeling of uselessness might lead to arguements about his role as cat noir with ladybug, to him feeling negative and turning to cat blanc again -- all of that to earn hismagical charm, maybe one step closer to telling ladybug his identity, or ladybug doing the opposite,but all ofthat would definetly bring them closer by the end of it.
Okay but...we all say that adrien would side with his dad if he found out he was hawkmoth but what if this gave him the push to be better ? What if he gave up plage to keep him safe and decided to be a rebellious ?
Like he would wear mismatched clothes, have long hair, tack up boxing ?

Let adrien be rebellious and feel as if he has to earn being chat after he finds out his father is a horrible father.
Let him learn how he treats his partner is horrible and learn to stand up for himself !!!
