Biollante | Rose and Monster Forms

Biollante is the monster that breaks my heart the most. I don't really know why, but I think it's from the fact I've lost close people to me and want them back too.

Felt like drawing something cute with two characters that complete opposites. Baragon is like a puppy, while Biollante is a demonic rose.

Baby Godzilla & Minilla | Fairy Mothra

I have no idea how good or bad my Japanese is with this. I'm not Japanese nor do I live there, I'm heavily referencing Wikizilla with the text. I'm pretty sure I mainly messed up the Japanese Fairy Mothra's, so if I did, don't be afraid to let me know. I'd rather own up to my mistakes than just let it fester.

I drew these back when the official trailer first dropped, so these pieces are a tad old. Also, those who are throwing a fit about Goji being pink, Grow Up. Have you seen Millennium Era Goji?

Also I wanted Godzilla's katana to be kinda like Inosuke's from Demon Slayer, just pointing that out.

Godzilla sketches ft Anguirus

I don't really have much to say about this. The scars on Goji's face are from Gigan, since Godzilla vs Gigan was released in '72 and he was the first monster to have Godzilla visibility bleed on film. So yeah.

Godzilla Minus One

It wasn't until yesterday did I get to see Goji's newest outing in black and white. I never got to see it in color. But to be the only one in the theatre, that is an experience I will never forget. Everyone in Minus One did amazing, even the special effects artists, the composer, the designers. Everyone.

I don't have much to say than what has already been said by the majority of people.

Minus One is also the first Godzilla movie I've seen in a theater. I wish I could have seen it in color, but just seeing it at all has been a blessing to me. Frankly, I don't get many opportunities to watch films in theaters.

The Ladies Love Gorosaurus

I find the post production pictures of Destroy All Monsters to be so cute and funny. I'm not the best at angles yet, so that's kinda why this looks how it looks.

Fish-uary Day 14: Fictional Fish (Ganimes, Gezora, and Kamoebas)

Sorry it's a sketch today. Valentine's Day (or any holiday, really) is where things in my mind don't want to work. That and I don't really know what kind of fictional fish to do. Do I do Voidfish from The Adventure Zone? A leviathan from Subnautica? A Pokemon?

Now we're here, with a stone crab, a cuttlefish, and a mata mata turtle.

Monsterverse Titan: Shimo/Shimu

I'm excited for GxK, man. Can't wait to see Godzilla and Kong beat the crap out of Skar King and Shimo/Shimu.

I've seen a lot of conflicting things about whether Shimo is male or female, so this design is genderfluid. Personally, I see Shimo as female, as I think it would be interesting to have more female monsters, but I am keeping an open mind for stuff.

Human Shin Godzilla Sketches

While I put much effort into any human version design I make, Shin Godzilla has been a great struggle for me as I don't quite know how I want him to look like. He's the product of nuclear waste, the persecution of the masses, and always in pain. Do I do what I did with Minus One and have Goji wear something like what the human characters wear? Do I make him look like an old god?

The only thing I really know I want for Shin's design is the large burn scar across his left eye. Otherwise, I'm at a loss, but will keep at it until I feel happy about it.

Godzilla Minus One won Best VFX at The Academy Awards!

I'm so freaking happy about this! The King of the Monsters is almost 70 years old and this is his first Hollywood Oscar win!

I wonder what those who have worked on the Godzilla films but have since passed away think of the win. What does Ishiro Honda think? Ifukube? Tanaka? Nakajima?

I hope that, wherever they are, they are happy about the win and getting recognized by the west, not as monster movies, but for the cinema they are.
