The first panel shows two Reapers, Coco Atarashi and Uzuki Yashiro from NEO: The World Ends with You, focusing on their wings. Light yellow over black brushed text bubbles say, " Wings, are a reflection, of one's Soul. The second panel shows Sho Minamimoto from The World Ends With You with 3 of his 6 Reaper wings surrounded by a purple mist. The text continues, "They change". The third panel has Minamimoto from NEO crushing a Soul Pulvis and is absorbing its energy. The text continues, "as one does."
The first panel is Minamimoto grinning and showing one of his Reaper wings, but the inner fingers of the wings are snapped and jagged. They are surrounded by red on the outside and a yellow-ornage on the inside. The text surrounding the panels say, "Even if they cannot be summoned. Even if We could not perceive them." A grey eye with a golden diamond surrouncing the pupil in the iris area. Golden light shines out from the eye as bird fly down from above and down into the Another Day Minamimoto's form. That Minamimoto's Reaper wings look closer to Soul Pulvis wings. Below him, there are two abstract eyes that are from the Felidae Cantus fight. The text at the bottom says, "No matter -"
A close up of Joshua smiling as he says, "Even if it ends in self destruction!" Hanekoma and Joshua watch Coco and Minamimoto from a distance. Coco is making some purple vortex with Minamimoto standing near her. Colourful orbs surround Coco and Minamimoto, and the blue ones are being drawn into Minamimoto. Joshua plays with a strand of hair as he says, "You warned him not to absorb things he shouldn't." The next panel focuses on Minamimoto's wings. They look like Reaper wings but the wing's arc connecting the fingers is gone and the fingers aren't connected the arm and wrist. White glowing orbs concentrate around the places where the Reaper wings would normally be connected. Green screens float over the wing, hinting at further details. The left window says "SHO" in the top left corner and "MINAMIMOTO" in the bottom right corner. Joshua continues to say, "If he refuses to learn, he will repeat that destructive cycle -" A close up of Joshua's left eye looking downwards, with a diamond surrounding his pupil, and a close up of Hanekoma's right eye looking towards Joshua, also with a diamond surrounding his pupil. Joshua finishes his sentence, "Again and again."

While Minamimoto and Coco are in some sort of like...higher plane-ish place, Minamimoto does what does and continues to absorb stuff around him. Hanekoma did, generally warn, Minamimoto not to run around and absorb stuff. The question is, is Minamimoto intentionally ignoring the advice and this might be subconscious or...Out of his control.

Or is Minamimoto absorbing things because that's what he does, and it has "worked" - and will work even better this time, for sure.

(And I'm debating that if it's something he's consciously doing, is he taking anything he can, or if he's focusing it - like, if could try and slowly absorb Joshua's power in particular... would that be helpful? And if Joshua is aware...they could both dance on the edge of disaster.)

I figured a good way to show his changes would be through his wings. I wrote about a potential link between Reaper wings, Soul Pulvis wings and Felidae Cantus' floating eyes in more detail here. We've seen Minamimoto get his wings messed up from Taboo, so why not Soul Pulvis? And for Another Day Minamimoto, his wings could create the floating eyes in the Felidae Cantus fight.

Small head-cannon from working on these panels: Hanekoma loves freely broadcasting his "writing report like thoughts" and Joshua makes a habit to chime in. Hanekoma can only get so annoyed when he's the one broadcasting them in the first place! There's nothing in these panels that indicate that Hanekoma is broadcasting his thoughts, so it's something I only really thought about after finishing it. Originally Hanekoma was going to be writing a report so Joshua could either read it or hear Hanekoma talk out loud.
