Detailed, Spooky but Entertaining Dream

Sometimes when I dream, they are quite elaborate and brimming with detail. Last night was one of those dreams and was likely my unconscious playing around with the circus au my friend and I have previously discussed.

The dream was dark, except for the circus itself. Literally, everything surrounding the outside of the circus hung in a grey like depression, where life, color, and chaos bloomed among the tents and carnival. It was more like a small town than a circus. Buildings of different shops and winding pathways with tents and stands lining the streets like booths.

But this wasn’t the only circus. In fact it was surprisingly considered “average” and “mediocre”. While wandering among the buildings and tents two figures approached chastising the circus. They called it fake, false magic with smoke and mirrors. This couple than gloated about a true circus where your greatest dreams and nightmares became reality.

For whatever reason a lot of my dreams involve a song or tune? Which like a Disney movie, blooms the scene into something unexpected and spectacular. This couple went on about singing about the circus they come from, and as they lead you out of the carnival town a large single building upon a hill came into view. It was dark and eerie looking against the dark sky and gray laden ground.

However, stripped sheets began to rise up upon the sides of this building, appearing in sections. As the sheets rose the building itself sank down into the ground, it’s darkened windows beginning to eliminate red. In the buildings place now rose an impressive tent that could almost be called a mansion. And when one entered, it was like stepping into a tent from Harry Potter. A whole circus city lay in wait, a mix of stunning beauty and underlying darkness that crept at the edges of the tents. It truly was an impressive dream to have.
