Here’s the thing about the Francesca/Michaela business…fans have a problem with it from every angle.

- Some are upset about losing Michael.

- Some are upset about Francesca falling for someone else while married to John.

- Some are upset about an unoriginal LGBTQ storyline.

- Some are upset about Francesca’s infertility storyline either disappearing or taking a backseat to her sexuality.

- Some are upset about Michaela (a black woman) potentially chasing Francesca (a white woman) and begging her to love her.

- Some are upset about it being “forced representation.”

The fans who are screaming that anyone who has a problem with it is just homophobic are dead wrong. These (valid) reactions are coming from everywhere and it’s silly to write them off as bigotry.

yes my bi ass hates this change! also weren’t fans promised that nothing would be changed with the original couples? there’s a good way for your fan base to lose all trust in you the thing that pisses me off the most is the lack of respect for the original fans of the book and don’t give me ‘it’s an adaptation of course they’re gonna make changes’ first of all. that doesn’t mean the change is a good one SECOND that doesn’t mean the fanbase has to like those changes say they made Kate a docile submissive woman who cared nothing about her sister would ‘it’s an adaptation’ still fly?
