Nature Deity - Tumblr Posts

On my walk today, I was followed by a one-eyed ginger cat.

I'm not sure how long he followed me, at least 5 minutes, but when I noticed him he paused and waited for me by the stream. I approached him slowly so not to spook him and he batted a nearby leaf. When I looked at the plant he had smacked, it was bindweed with a Pine Ladybird perched on top.

He looked at me, meowed once then hurried further up the path, jumped over the small stream and disappeared into bushes opposite.

I'm pretty certain its a message, I'm hoping to do an important meditation/ritual with Mother tonight so am hoping its a positive sign.

Hi! You said anyone could message you so here I am! 🌿☁️

Do you see Mother Nature as the one who controls everything nature related? The wind, the growth of plants, the rivers?

Also is there any other nature entities your work closely with?

Thank you!🔆🌱

Of course, anyone is welcome to message me! Glad you're here! (I now have a tag for answering asks its #buriedanswers)

I don't see Mother Nature as being someone that controls nature, in the same way that I don't see humans as controlling our blood flow and beating hearts.

She is nature. She is the plants and the changing seasons, she is the wind and clouds and the forces that guide their movements. She is everything. I believe that she can guide these things and that she has immense power, but not necessarily that she controls it in the sense that Zeus may control lightning because that creates an image of separation between the two.

Mother Nature is self contained chaos: cause and effect play out unconsciously, just the same as within our bodies. Yes, she does have some control, but not in a wielder/tool relationship, more in a mind/hand relationship.

Does that make sense? It's difficult for me to properly explain what Mother Nature feels like to me. I can try to expand on certain points if they're confusing!!!

Secondly, I work with a number of nature spirits as and when necessary or called to! I work with the spirits of my spellwork ingredients and the spirits of my local streams and trees, I work with the spirit of animals - dead and alive. I don't have any spirits that I've commit to working with at the moment though!

Collective Reading from Mother Nature

Card: The Mirror (no. 12 in the Wildwood Tarot Deck)

Just one card for this message because I didn't need any more. The mesage rang loud and clear.

"The world is not pretty. Nature is not pretty or pure and humans are not evil. Morality is something that Man made up because of our social needs, because of our evolution. Good and evil, right and wrong exist not because of some divine intervention, or some secret knowledge only we are wise enough to use, but because our evolution created a need for social groups and rules to maintain them.

Nature can be cruel and unforgiving. Animals are well aware of what death is, of pain and suffering - a lion knows that the antelope it hunts will hurt and die, but still the lion must eat. Cats play with their food, cause them stress and panic as entertainment. Foxes often kill more than they need, simply because they enjoy it.

To call humans evil as whole, to call us parasites and villains, is no better than claiming we are special and important. It is still placing us apart from the rest of the natural world. We are animals. We are beasts with instincts and fears. Look to the world around you and see yourself reflected.

Do not give up on humankind. Do not give up on community and altruism. Do not give up on yourself and your capacity to be kind and helpful. "

A smaller, more actionable message:

Allow yourself to feel "evil" feelings. Feel hatred and anger and sadness if you must. If you cannot let it go, learn to live with it. You are not lesser than others because you hold darker feelings in your heart. Accept that you will hurt people, that people will hurt you and it isn't always forgivable. Accept that there are no clean decisions, no easy right or wrong. Accept that the world is ugly and chaotic and despite all of Man's efforts, nothing will ever fit neatly in artificial boxes. Accept these things but do not let them stain your world view. All of this is true, but people are still kind, they are still trying, and you must try too.

Find a stream, an ocean, a lake and look inside it. See yourself as you were meant to, huddled and head bowed as you make out your reflection in the moving, muddy water. See that you are no different than the other creatures who have seen this water.

Be kind where you can and forgive yourself where you can't. Accept your primal instincts and your cruel desires, know that they do not make you "evil" and move on. Do not be cruel unnecessarily, do not harm others for your entertainment or take more than you need, but do not linger on the times where you did or hate yourself for feeling the desire to do so.

"I can't connect to nature because I live in a city" Incorrect.

"I can't connect to nature because I can't travel" Nuh-uh.

"I can't connect to nature because I-" Wrong.

Anyone can connect to nature. Please, remove the mindset that nature is something *out there*. Nature is all around you.

The dandelions peeking through pavement cracks, the birds you don't notice on your windowsill, the brambles in the alleys, the storms and sunshine.

All of this is nature. You are surrounded by it. Notice it, learn about it. Write down when you notice the days getting longer, when more butterflies appear and when ripen blackberries ripen. Connect to the nature that lives outside your window, just past the boundary of your front door.

Watch nature documentaries, build a small windowsill garden, let the spider in your room corner stay for a while.

Connection is not determined by proximity, but by effort.
