Some thoughts about MCC and Techno that I wrote 1-2 weeks ago, that I guess I should post now that we got confirmation he's not in MCC All Stars?
Techno has two main motives to play in events: to have fun (ex MCU), and to get clout (ex MCM). He won't be getting more clout with MCC than without playing in it. And I suspect with the increased pressure that adds to the pressure he already has by default, MCC isn't that fun for him anymore (and the "fear of letting down people" is not worth it?)

Since we're talking about MCC All Stars and Techno again. I just think Techno might have played if MCC was still like it was at the beginning: a fun, not very competitive, "almost no one knows what's happening" event, with A LOT less people watching.
At the beginning, MCC didn't have a lot of strats, the games were new, no one knew what was happening. Now, the best players browse the reddit, they know all the strats (for all the games!), they strategize, they plan to win. So the overall event is more competitive, winning is harder, pressure is higher.
If the atmosphere of MCC was the same from MCC 1-6 (more or less, there's no "hard cut" line here), MCC All Stars wouldn't be "that bad" (I don't mean it's bad. I just don't know how else to say it). It would just be another event with 40 people having fun, with maybe 15 of those tryharding. But now. Now MCC All Stars will have 40 highly competitive people, 10 of the best teams our there, with the best strats, best plays, best study, best preparation. I don't think that would reduce the stress levels...
(I know I didn't mention his health issues, but I think he wouldn't have played anyway)
