grumpy x sunshine where theyre both post whump
grumpy was never soft with them, but you bet your ass they are now, whenever they ask for it. sunshine ends up being really clingy, not able to get the image of grumpy laid out bloody out of their head.
grumpy barely insults them any more, soft and attentive and considerate about them, talking in hushed voices when their friends are around, asking sunshine if they’re okay. getting annoyed whenever someone tries to call them out on it even fondly, throwing a comparatively mild to before fit about it (fuck this might make it too obvious. whatever it’s fine)
sunshine ends up being very physically affectionate, sitting in their lap whenever possible and listening to their heart. they both have bad nightmares, and it ends up being that sunshine keeps sneaking over to grumpy’s room after a couple hours of trying to sleep every night, because they both can only fall asleep when sunshine is laying directly on top of grumpy and listening to their heart
they’re both more subdued, quieter than they were. grumpy doesn’t get angry or reactive as much, and sunshine doesn’t really smile the same way, except at grumpy.
before this, their relationship had been complicated and messy and to the outside viewer, it could still have seemed like they were each others enemies, but after it’s pretty obvious where they are. they’re never seen without each other any more; sunshine gets panic attacks whenever grumpy is too far away.
