Redrawing some old art and this was one of my favourites
I imagine if they’re drinking into the night they have to have one person stay sober just in case, it was Sanemi’s turn this time….
When u realize this is obanai's final sight of mitsuri before he went completely blind.
He leave her with no intention to survive.
He want mitsuri to be safe and survive while he want to cleanse his blood. He's unworthy of her love. He thought.
But Mitsuri is a hashira too. She too want to fight. She want to be useful, like every other people. So she get up and fight, as hard as she could.
How heartbroken he was, knowing her first and final love dying there armless, bleeding helplessly.
The only thing he could do was wrapping her in his haori, comforting her, hugging her as hard as he could and make a vow so one day they could meet again, and then he will properly protect her, love her right with all his life.

This is actually my first time drawing Obanai! (I zoned out well doing this I think.) and! It only took 2 hours and 30 mins :3
