Ollie did his best to disguise his shock at the invitation. He could somewhat wrap his head around Phoenix being willing to run a mission with him since they’d done it once before (albeit with Ollie having no idea) but this? He certainly wasn’t complaining, seeing as moments ago he thought he might never see Phoenix again due to their infrequent visits to Agency headquarters, he was just confused.
“Reginald’s address is technically classified, so I’ll come get you,” Phoenix was saying as they turned and continued down the hall.
“What’re we watching?”
“It’s Reginald’s choice, so probably a John Juniper flick. Ever heard of him?”

“That’s what they say. I used to know him, too! If you can still stand me after tonight, maybe I’ll tell you some stories.”

When you’re in the spy business, attachments are a liability that your enemies will always find a way to ruthlessly exploit. Everyone knew it, especially the handlers.
But Agent Phoenix had a way of bursting in and making it seem like none of that mattered. Sitting on the couch, listening to them yap on about the movie, Ollie was starting to think that they were onto something.
