The red string of fate has a special place in my heart because itβs one of the first tropes I came across when I started reading fanfics years ago. I was brainstorming possible ideas for soulmates and then it hit me soooo yeah :3

i love a good fantasy au and part of what makes it so enjoyable for me are the outfits so I went all out here. this took me forever bc procreate kept crashing when i was working on this </3
but yeah i just wanted to put my favs in cute outfits. plus everyone gets longer hair (except cheyomi)
also!! yeah my mcs (nadine and cheyomi) wouldnt exist in the same universe but this is a fantasy au and olnf week. anything is possible <3

Seeing as the game is based in 2010-2022, I figured an MC who grew up taking polaroids would be rather fitting. SO, here's a few of their memories captured in a still moment.

this was heavily inspired by those alien cat memes. in this au, i like to think nadine and cheyomi would be siblings. they were hatched from an egg or something. incubator buddies?? :3c

these two are on their first mission on earth to conduct research on the local environment. theyβre not supposed to interact with the humans but theyβre just so fascinating. they canβt help it if they watch the locals from afar (especially two particularly interesting individuals) and are incidentally spottedβ¦. oops.
nadine and cheyomi panic at first thinking they blew their mission but to their surprise, the two humans approach them. they declare a new side mission! observe (befriend) the two humans!

i loveeee the alice in wonderland aesthetic. i like the wacky and whimsical vibe as well as the eeriness that it exudes. i considered many other auβs which i may eventually end up doing something with in the future but for nowβ¦. alice in wonderland au!!

Not my best work at all by any means... BUT!! I just really wanted to participate in #olnfweek2024 at least once! I had a super cool comic planned for Day 1, but when I realized (very quickly) that I just wouldn't be able to finish all of the comics for Day 1 AND both the illustrations for Day 2 (on top of other art projects of mine), I decided to just let it be.
So that being said, here we go: Day 2(?), Fantasy

Soulmate (noun.): a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner
Atlas and Tamarack are soul siblings- also known as a 'sister from another mister' or a 'brother from another mother' in more common lingo. While their relationship is platonic, their souls are tied together.
Qiu and Atlas are more on the romantic side of the term, the definition known to most people.
(this is literally the only one I gave Atlas their freckles in lol)
