Bucky had taken you out almost every night since you punched him in the nose. Dinner and drinks at the bar down the street, movies on Tuesday nights because they were only five dollars and their buttery popcorn was to die for. You went for walks in the park, holding hands, complaining about Fury and his rigorous syllabus and schedule. On the nights that didn’t involve leaving your apartment, the two of you would turn on Netflix and quickly lose interest in the movie you’d seen many times.

He didn’t remember falling asleep. He and Y/N had been watching a movie on Netflix before their attention went onto other, more primal urges. Well, not exactly. They had cuddled and kissed, and hands did wander, but they stayed above the clothes, making him feel like a horny teenager.

Three shots rang out, echoing in Bucky’s ears, his hearing amplified by the wolf made him cringe and cry out. His ears hadn’t yet stopped ringing when he caught a scent; bitter, copper; blood. The wolf whined, low and sad, large eyes roved over the woman in front of him, taking in her appearance.
