the first time he meets you, hinata swears he forgets everything he knew of language. he forgets how the subject precedes the predicate, like how hi comes before how are you or how people usually start introductions with their own names – he forgets the meaning of proper nouns, how they mark names and places (hinata shouyou, karasuno high), or how adjectives can modify the words around them (second year, wing spiker). 

all he remembers is how you smiled like present tense – perfect. how he wishes it were progressive instead. like an -ing verb that could just keep on going. but the fact that you’ve smiled at him once is good enough reason for the world to be a beautiful place. what other reason does he need?
