Ok ok, so inspired by a discussion in Discord with @maebh-mcinness and in conclusion I need this, we need this, DESPERATELY HAVE YOU HEARD THIS MANS VOICE.

Balam Shichiro has the best voice and I will never not be thankful for the producer’s choice in picking the VAs. It’s deep and soothing and SO

IT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR THE SONG “For the Dancing and the Dreaming” from How to Train your Dragon.

Hence, this little proposal scene and some prequel to it.

Kalego knew that Shichiro had a devi good voice. He also knew that you were extremely lucky for getting to have such a precious relationship with his best friend.

And despite any previous withholdings… he’s grown fond of you… grateful even, because it’s as if you existed just for Shichiro.

When Shichiro came to him asking to teach him the basics of singing and dancing… he couldn’t help the warmth in his chest or the softness on his face.

He knew how much you meant to Shichiro and how much Shichiro meant to you.

And FINALLY finally the two of you would have titles to match that…

Mates… Life Partners…

Despite how much Opera was tempted to tease. He would not.

Excessively at least.

Opera was called to be Shichiro’s practice partner. Nothing too extreme, just to get him used to freestyling. Any actual dancing would be up to you and Shichiro the day of.

But he wasn’t the only one who came to the call.

Shichiro knew, throughout wooing you and dating you, that you absolutely loved music. You loved to sing and to do silly little dances, and you liked to try and sing and dance with him.

Course, he was always too shy to do so, so he would just happily watch and support you.

But now…

Now he knew deep down that he needed to do this, he wanted so badly to do this.

Lets hope all those lessons with Kalego and Opera-senpai would pay off.

A gentle sun, and a gentle breeze accompanied the soft scents of the Netherworld’s finest flora, courtesy of Suzy-senpai obviously.

But as you approached…

Shichiro had asked you to meet him in the school gardens over the weekend. When you got there, you took note of a blooming hedge wall growing around an archway, sectioning off a small portion of the rest of the gardens. 

Already your heart was a flutter at the sight… and you walked through, the hedge much much longer than you expected and as they shed delicate petals… enchanting…

Music starts to play.

You enter the gardens… alone as the music fades away…

But, you’re soon accompanied by a gentle whistle…

And there! 

Across the way… is Shichiro.

His his face, shadowed, and his stance, nervous but once the whistler completes their melody…

He sings.

I’ll swim and sail on savage seas~…

With ne’er the fear of drowing~…

And gladly ride the waves of life~…

He kneels before you, wing base exposed…

If you will marry Me~…

No scorching sun, nor freezing cold…

Will stop-

WILL STOP ME ON MY JOUR-… NEY! 

Multiple harsh sushes tells you there were more than just a few misfits in the bushes. A distinct Sabnock “Sorry!” coming from the hedge behind you.

But rolling with the punches, though his ears were much pinker, Shichiro continues….

If you will promise… me your heart…

And love-…. 

He’s too choked up… he can’t-!

But you can.

And Love me for Eternity!~

You stoop down and raise his head, holding his face in the palms of your hand.

My dearest one my darling dear!~

Your mighty words astound me~

But I’ve no need for mighty deeds when I feel your arms around me!~

You yank him to your feet, tears in both of your eyes, spinning like you’re drunk on love, as you wrap yourself in his arms.

But I would bring you rings of Gold!~ 

I’d even sing you poetry!~

And I will keep you from all HARM!~

Joyful laughter rumbles through his chest as he sweeps you off your feet, sitting you on his forearms high above the unworthy ground.

If YOU would stay beside me!~

You hop out of his arms for but a moment, coming to land on your feet in front of him. You place a hand on his chest, reassuring, playful as you continue the song, grabbing his hand at the end.

I have no use for rings of Gold!~

Hooking his arm in yours the two of you dance! Gay with joy and happier than either of you ever been! The elation contagious, drawing your colleagues and dear misfits out of hiding to spin around with you!

To love and kiss to sweetly Hold!~ (hey!)

For the dancing and the dreaming!~ (AhahAH!)

Through all life’s Sorrows and delights!~

I’ll keep your laugh beside me!~

I’ll swim and sail the savage seas with ne’er the fear of drowning!~
